About to get a nitrogen setup to do some shock work myself. Help me understand the ideal gas law if it even applies to this hypothetical equation.

Say I have 2000 psi of tank pressure.
    A shock takes 150 psi.

Does that mean I can fill 13 shocks with a 2000psi capacity?

    Please don't argue.

I don’t understand it either

I just now both volume and pressure are important in this equation.

Yeah, lets pretend the temperature remains the same for everything. You'll also need to know the volumes of the tanks.

Pretty sure my tank is a 60cuft and I’ve done probably 30 shocks with it. It’s getting on the low side and I’ll need to refill it soon. I’ll try to confirm volume when I get out to the shop in a little bit.

I like 20cuft for easier transport.

I have filled 8? shocks and bumps a few times and my tank is still at 1k.

I usually fill to 300 and let them sit to make sure they don’t leak then bleed down to where I want them

We'll need to know the cubic feet on the bottle. That's really all that matters for a math free SWAG.

You should be able to do hundreds of shocks on one 40cuft tank.

A 2.5x8 shock resi is approx .03 cubic feet.

I use Argon personally as I always have it on hand anyways. But is an option for anyone that TIG welds. 75/25 AR Co2 is not recommended. Molecularly, argon is actually superior to nitrogen but at a greater expense.
