One of the BrBa restaurants Walter visits when he gets mad at the old partner’s wife…forgot her name at the moment, that is Savoy Bar & Grill - it’s a really nice spot! Also, the Dog House, that was in both, BrBa and BCS. The Los Pollos Hermanos is off of Isleta but Twisters are all over the city. Louie’s Pub was used a few times in the show, the bar that Jane’s Dad and Walter visits, and also Mike visits.

Hope you enjoy your time here in New Mexico!!

I was hoping this would have the same experience as the 1792 but unfortunately not.

had regular larceny before (and wasn’t a fan) and did an experiment where I got it off the pa site and sent to my cousins even with a nj billing address. The experiment worked but disappointed in the taste:

I have the A124, and although it's nice to have proof, and some of the flavor delivery, it's not that great. It's good, but nothing exceptional

For all the negativity that Woodford get's for being kind of generic....that double oak is a real home run for a very reasonable price. Kudos my man

BTW, I've tried all of the 1792's. Nice bottle, but honestly, just overhyped, and I won't be buying any other bottles. I don't hate it, but it's nothing special, that's for sure.

I was talking about Larceny BP.

I’m a big fan of 1792 products. Never had the shelfer small batch, but everything else has been excellent for me. I have store picks of the BiB, FP and SiB, I’ve really enjoyed those in particular. And I bought every bottle for $55 or less so also a great value lineup.

I paid $125 for the Sweet Wheat....while it's o.k., it's not my taste profile. I'm into bigger, darker, bolder profiles. Really also like grain forward craft distillers, like Frey Ranch, Bardstown, Dettling, and Laws. I know some people hate the super grain forward offerings.

Tomasitas is one of the best meals I've had in the last ten years.... I always make a point to stop in there with he wife when we visit. The randy Travis special is good but so are the chicos if you make it ok Saturday.... Man that is a good restaurant.

We were going back and forth with Buffalo Trace and I was very happy with it. Not a bad gift to receive.

You didn’t read any reviews before committing the $125? Sweet wheat is pretty widely known for having mild, thin flavor. It’s a summer sipper.

On the part about liking darker, bolder profiles and also “grain forward” whiskey, this is a little confusing.

When whiskey is referred to as “grain forward” it’s typically because either it’s younger bourbon, so the barrel aging doesn’t overpower the grain flavor, or the mash bill has a much higher percentage of wheat, rye, or malted barley, because these are the flavoring grains…or both. Is that what you’re talking about when you say “grain forward”?

Somewhat opposite of that, whiskey gets darker when it’s aged longer, or aged in a barrel with higher char, or both. Darker whiskey is going to be less grain forward, if I’m understanding what that even means.

Whiskey typically tastes bolder when there is less corn and more rye or even malted barley present, so that goes along with the desire for grain forward…I think? Malted barley is used by all the distilleries named above. So if that’s your jam…check out the mash bill before you buy a new whiskey.
