[SOLVED] it was a remote starter!

Just bought a 2018 SR5, anyone know what this is? Looks like it was installed aftermarket. My trim had the GoPro mount, could it be a dongle for that? GPS antenna?

Welcome to TW! Did you finance? It could be one of those "if you don't pay us we will find you" devices. But they are usually a bit more discreet than that.

I agree several of my Honda crv’s had them pulled and lowered when I’d tint the windshield. Kind of obnoxious for a little while and then you don’t even see it.

@CTAKoma start following wires. It has to go somewhere, and it is not stock. Also could turn into a battery drain.

Looks loose. Can you pull it down and get some better pictures? There could be a device name or brand printed on it.

Looks like the same sort of antenna that came with my Viper remote start kit.

nah, every thread here about a questionable wire/antenna always devolves into special 3-letter agencies and shady people wanting to track the particular vehicles every move. most of the time, the posts also assume the dealer the vehicle was purchased from is less than stellar, not the vehicle driver being anything less than a shiny and upstanding citizen.
