Had it last night for the first time, and only made an Old Fashioned with it. It really is good! Going to pick up some lemonade this week as well as some blackberries to make a frozen style drink as well.

Battle of the cheapos, bottled in Bond.
    1. Old Overholt. Sweet, brown sugar
    2. Jack Daniel’s , typical profile, bananas and sugar
    3. Mellow Corn, brown sugar and dusty corn
    4. Evan Williams, traditional bourbon, a little proof heavy

Old Overholt is so damned mellow, and sweet, I will always have a bottle on the shelf, less than $30. Mellow Corn…seriously, $17, BiB, shit, they give it away

Every time I have combined Crown, a pool and neighbors, there ends up being excessive nudity…the Crown has majic properties

Yours is awesome. Better than mine I scored a couple weeks ago. Idk who is dipping the cask strength but they’re heavy handed lol. Nice!

That’s exactly what I told my buddy. Seems to usually be the Cask Strength, the person dipping them definitely isn’t trying to save wax haha

I wanted to give a quick report on these two:

Pure Kentucky. On a whim, I decided to try it out, for $55, I can afford to give it a try. The nose is straight up Kentucky bourbon. Vanilla, heavy brown sugar, a bit of black pepper. Palate is low proof up front, a bit of the proof on the back of the palate. Vanilla up front, brown sugar, then some black tea towards the end. As much as I'm describing the tasting notes, my impression is that it's....the upper end of o.k. If I were to characterize it...sort of a cross between JD and Jim Beam. It's nothing I'd buy again, but it's also not a bad pour for the $$

The Representative. Now this one is interesting. From what I understand, it's MGP juice. Aged 4 years, coming it at around 114 proof, and priced reasonably at $58. Based out of Connecticut, with a pretty wide variety of offerings. A bit more proof up front, very nice light fruit up front (think white grapes), followed by some cinnamon, citrus, and vanilla. The typical bourbon brown sugar mid palate is pretty decent, with some orange peel, black pepper, and honey on the finish. For a four year, MGP based bourbon, it's really very good. I will be buying another for backup, and also checking out the next level "Senator" when I see a good price. The wax coating is a bitch to cut through. It's more like plastic dip than wax.

Man, this is interesting. You can’t swing a dead cat without hitting some sort of distillery in CO Springs. Never seen it…but maybe I get the feeling it’s the same folks that handle Art of the Spirits..hmmm

Nothing fancy, but an interesting pour. The profile is a bit different to me, hard to explain, but enjoyable. Cheers.
