Morning PA! Walked out of the house before 6am in shorts to find it's a little cool out there.

Met all the old folks at 6am getting bloodwork done. Nobody my age apparently gets up that early

 

6 a.m. is when I go, especially if I had to fast for the blood draw. Get up, get there, git 'er done and enjoy a cup of coffee and some food.

Yup they open up at 6am. I wake up at 5:30 on my days off so this was perfect. Only took like 15 minutes from check in to me leaving. Hit up the Rutter's for some coffee and headed back to the house.

Guess I'll find out tomorrow if my cholesterol went down. I'm too young for this crap!

 

Up here in Beaver County we have Heritage Valley. I guess it goes into Sewickley, Moon and Robinson too. Anyway, they have several blood draw sites. One up by the BV Mall is real nice and quick. My mother, who lives in Plum, uses Quest. Speaking of my mother, I will see her today in Monroeville for the funeral of a great aunt. She made it to 96 years and had a good life. Hopefully the Parkway isn't a shit show this morning.

 

Same here. Mine is high. Really not ready for meds but don't want to check out early.

 

Yea, I'm only 34 and the Dr does not want to put me on those meds yet. Fasting blood glucose was a little high last time, so working on that. No more sugar or other snacks for me. My biggest problem is I love red meat. Probably going to be still slightly elevated

 

Lol it says up eat glue ! Is there sugar in glue ! Lol.

Red meat isn't bad for you. As "They" say, all in moderation.

If you like rice, make purple rice part of your diet. The original "statin" (mevacor) was derived from a compound in purple rice that folks in Asia have been using as a way to lower cholesterol for millenia.

 

Morning all! Hoping for some cool weather today, our "office" sunroom was 81* yesterday. Ceiling fans help but not enough for that - would have a window unit in there but the crank windows prohibit that

Really pretty! Been trying to hit all of the PA firetowers over the last couple years, have a map of them hanging in my living room. Unfortunately some of them (loop tower) are stuck in private property now. If you're ever in centre county come check out the greenwood, summit, snake, snowshoe, and little flat towers.

 

OK. hitting firetowers is cool. Is there a list on line that shows where they are?
i'd like to try that, as well.

I did! It was a little breezy up there lol They don't let you get inside the lookout nest, but you can go to the platform right below. The overall height is 87.5 feet.
