For those that want this same flip key but with a chip and everything complete (so you dont have to open it up) they cost about $15 or so from aliexpress here:
    https://www.aliexpress.us/item/1005...t_main.11.2c5c1802brM315&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa

I programmed it myself with techstream and had Canadian Tire cut it for free! (they only charge if they supply you a key)

    All functionality works great!

Mostly stock, just getting it to my liking, just happy to have had the taco and now my 4Runner.
Installed the auto driver side window switches in my 2015, less than $30, now I have the oem switches if anyone needs them lol.

Surprised you didn't replace the entire lower control arm assembly.

I had a car years ago and one cat heat shield rusted off creating a rattle. I wedged 2 blocks of wood between the cat and floor pan. Passed 3 inspections and sold it like that.

The same shit everyone else has.
I need to do this with mine. Been debating between filling the void between the 2 pieces with eurathane or welding them.

Just gutted the rubber and drilled a couple holes and welded the 2 pieces together ?

You got it! Used a few washers, honestly drilling it out and filling with jb weld/urethane would probably work just as well. Definitely made the shifter feel like it should.

Did a few projects at the same time over the past two days.

Painted all interior door panels black
    IMG_1535.jpg
Before (only took photo of front panels like a dummy)
    IMG_1534.jpg
    After
    IMG_1536.jpg IMG_1537.jpg
Then while those were drying i changed out my stock tweeters and woofersIMG_1546.jpg
    IMG_1549.jpg
    IMG_1551.jpg
Since the tweeters didn’t fit behind the front panels, i did some shaving and screwed them into the doors.
    IMG_1559.jpg
Another thing is I wired my steering wheel controls to my aftermarket headunit without an adapter. I just looked up where the original wires were then tapped them in.

If you want to see an 18yo’s journey with this truck you can follow it’s page on IG at @nc.taco
