    Not sure it matters. Mine is as opposite of yours as possible; the plastic layers are opposite, and the pin is inserted from the cowl towards the engine.

    I recall after doing some work having the same conundrum and I went to a dealer to see how it was put together. Since my windshield has been replaced and all those pieces put back together by someone else, I no longer care.

    Looks like you have the plastic rivet inserted the wrong direction and It also looks like you have the cowl overlapped to the wrong side. I hope you can tell from these pictures if you need more let me know.
