Does anyone know if you can wire a dash cam into a switch controller? I have a 8 gang switch controller.

Same...powers up my Garmin Mini and I don't have to worry about turning on/off.

Sure why not. But what are you trying to accomplish?

While I went directly into the drivers side lower left fuse box instead of the Dongar, I would ask the same question as above- what is your end goal? Honest question.

I couldn’t be guaranteed to remember to turn it on every time, using switched power makes it a no brainer.

+1 for the dongar. It helps keep my garmin mini 2 out of sight

I have a anytime camera already installed. I'm going to install roof rack lights, and rock lights. So I wanna have as much of the wiring to everything. As clean as it possibly can be. So I figured I was going to wire the dash cam up into the switch controller. To keep things clean.

I mean you could change the settings on the controller to trigger on with ignition but it seems like a awful lot of work when you could simply use a dongar adapter which would be cheap and cleaner than running wires to the engine bay. If you do t set trigger on your controller you would have to turn it on manually every time you enter the vehicle

I missed that in the post above. Any recommendations of one that is good?

The brand is called Dongar super easy to find online, Amazon too. The camera will turn off when the truck is off.

however if you want sentry mode you will need to run your wires to the cabin fuse box and tap a 12v constant fuse

Works well for me. The power-wire that used to ran around the windshield and along the dash is gone now. It seems very easy to use on rental vehicles to use the dashcam. But as stated it runs when the mirror-circuit is on ... depends on ignition-switch/accessory-mode.
