Couple pics after the P4 treatment before it gets dark... still have half the truck to go.

Well the front is in and I got the driver side rear installed but not torqued. With the back sitting on jack stands I've got 4" of lift on the front when I was supposed to have 2.5"... This could be interesting. We'll see where it settles after I finish the rear tomorrow

Hey James @Thatbassguy, My guess is a controlled burn. They had a lot of downed trees from a tornado a couple of years ago. Probably wanted it taken care of before it became a problem.

Also, they thinned some trees out on the west side of the road and it looks like they may be adding a couple of campsites by site 4 at Bear Paw.

Bearpaw? Looks like that pile of gravel is still in my parking spot.

I found the way up to Butler Rock. The old trail was shut down in '86 and it pretty much grew over. In '16, they created a hiking path back there...about 3/4 of a mile.

I've stopped at the trail head, but I've never walked up the trail. Maybe I will this year.

Yup, there's another trailhead off of W Butler Rock Rd too. There's a sign. It may be a shorter hike from the west.

Also, have you ever been on 1601 (Google shows it as 1601 and 1607, actually)? Follow Butler Rock Rd north from your dropped pin and then north from where it meets W Butler Rock Rd. There's a huge clearing with a fire pit at https://www.google.com/maps/place/45°12'03.5"N+88°17'07.3"W/@45.2009678,-88.2879439,541m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m10!1m5!3m4!2zNDXCsDExJzA0LjEiTiA4OMKwMTYnNDUuNiJX!8m2!3d45.1844722!4d-88.2793333!3m3!8m2!3d45.200964!4d-88.285369?entry=ttu. A person could get probably 20 trucks in there and it's mostly level.

I used the Clean Slate wash on the vinyl with no issues. I didn't use the clay bar on it, and I mostly avoided it with the C4 cutter and P4 polish on the polisher. Where I did overlap onto it a bit, I just took my microfiber towel and smoothed it in. The polisher didn't damage or lift it at all. Later, when I was done with the polish, I used the towel to wipe down the vinyl and the P4 residue in it gave it a nice refresh.

So, some brief thoughts on the products I used... YMMV

The Clean Slate did exactly what it was advertised to do, and did it very well.

The clay bar and Clay Luber treatment was new to me, but it really did pull out all the little tar spots and other solid grime stuff with ease. I was impressed.

I've never used an electric polisher before. The Torqx from Chemical Guys got the job done nicely, but it is a pretty heavy tool and it's loud. For the price I think it's a good value, especially if bought in a kit. I would have liked the Milwaukee Tool polisher, but it's pretty spendy.

I think I expected the C4 to cut a bit more and remove more of my scratches. Any swirls are completely gone, and I had a LOT of light scratches that are gone, but scratches I didn't think were that deep can still be seen in a sun glare. The Voodoo Blue really hides scratches at a distance, but up close they stand out. Maybe TWArk damage required the next step up in correction, whatever that is.

The P4 did put a great finish on a not so perfect surface. I'll have to get more pics.

Maybe I'm a harsh critic of my own work. Maybe I needed to take more time with the C4. I do know this. I'm not a fan of detailing. I went over every inch of my truck's exterior 4 times. And it's a long boi! It's tedious. I compare it to painting. You're all cool with it at first and excited to see the results. Then you start doing it and it suuuuuuccckkkss. I'll be limiting this amount of care to my truck's exterior to once a year. I do still have TWArk dust in the interior. I need to get on that soon...

I was primarily wondering if there would be residue stuck to the vinyl. Couldn't find a definitive answer anywhere. That's good to know.

Clean and shiny...disgusting, throw some dirt on it! J/k its looking good.

Let me know if you need to use my wall-mounted wrench again if it ends up too high.

Dang that is really thinned out. Poser shots aren't going to look so epic now, waaah.

Bagley Rapids from the campground, always a good place to stop. Go figure the one year I'm not out chasing waterfalls and we've had enough rain to keep everything flowing even in July. I hate work sometimes. Rich has the right idea, I think I'm going to retire early now.

I've probably been through there back when I first started exploring the area. But, I don't recall seeing that clearing. The link in your post isn't working for me. Is this the spot?

    https://maps.app.goo.gl/sViEDH6r8zwFptZX8

Looks interesting. I'm thinking about taking a ride through the area again soon. I'll definitely check it out.

Also, I have found a few other nice campsites in the area I'd be happy to share if you're interested.

Love it when I spend 10+ hours detailing the truck and it rains... Water is beading up nicely anyway.
