My truck threw the P0 3355 Code for the crankshaft position sensor. My check engine light is on traction control off and My cruise control will not turn on. The part is cheap and from what I’ve seen it looks like an easy fix. Does anybody have any other information that I might not be aware of to look at this?

My truck does need an oil change right now (If that matters). I have not noticed any other symptoms other than maybe a slightly degraded acceleration. No troubles starting or anything like that Not sure if there’s anything else I need to give you as far as information. Any help would be welcome.

With out a scope. The only thing you can do is ohm it out and check wire integrity to the ECM.
I'm mean technically, you could tear the front of the engine off and check the crank sprocket.
I'm throwing a crank sensor at it before I do that. (If I didn't have a scope)

Just a quick bump for an additional question: why would this check engine light go out and all symptoms disappear? Is that common? I hadn’t replaced, but I got the part and got ready to repair…everything went back to normal?

battery has some heavier than normal corrosion and I noticed my fog and parking lights were out. Maybe electrical?

Clean your battery terminals, make sure it has a good charge.

Yes, a bad battery or inconsistent power can absolutely cause electrical gremlins to rise.

thank you for that. It seems to be fine now. Weather has been bad so I’m going to change the sensor in a couple days since I’ve got nowhere to go.

If the truck always starts and runs fine I wouldn't think the crank sensor is bad because a valid crank sensor signal is required for the engine to run.
A weak battery or bad connection that causes slow or erratic engine cranking can cause a crank sensor code to set.
