    How can I determine trim level (Limited, TRD, SR5, SR) from the VIN?

    According to Toyotas website, under VIN Decoder:
    "Positions four to eight give a general report of a vehicle. They are put together as VDS (Vehicle Descriptor Section)."

    However, I cannot find a key or guide how to bread that down. More specifically, looking at just the first 8 digits of the VIN, I am trying to compare:

    5TFLU4EN3FX130125 - from my 2015 Tacoma which is a TRD Off Road, to;
    3TMLU4EN0FM173858 - another 2015 which I suspect is a SR or SR5 base model, but have been unable to confirm.

    Thank you,

    I don't believe there is a way to decode the VIN to that level but here's the listed equipment for those 2 VINs.
    Looks like they are both TRD OffRoads with the Tow Package, one was built in Texas and the other was built in Mexico.

    Wow, can't thank you enough, far exceeded my expectation.

    I've tried at least 6-8 different sources, including Toyota to find that level of detail. Can I ask where/how you got it?

    Thank you again!
