Speaking of detailing, I finally managed to get all of the trim and old adhesive off the 80. It took a bit of time and experimentation, but the exterior is starting to shape up to the vision I had for it (no trim, just sheet metal).

I've been a little preoccupied lately, but some big updates happening in August.

Other than still needing bigger tires, it's looking good.

3:1 crawler gears in the tcase are among the bigger updates happening soon - thought you might appreciate that, even though it's a lowly auto trans

That's the one. I found several spots yesterday that would be great for 1 or 2 trucks.

Bugs yesterday weren't bad at all. I swatted 3 mosquitoes, had 1 horsefly and 1 deerfly buzzing me and no ticks!

Now all we need is for them to re-open the pipeline.

That will be a nice upgrade. Will help that poor automatic in the short bus greatly.

Get that beast finished up and get out here for a few days! I guarantee a good time on the trails.

There's a few nice sites on some smaller lakes around there. We'll have to compare notes at the next shindig

If your not getting the results your expecting, try a more aggressive pad or a more aggressive compound. Think of the pads/compounds as different grits of sandpaper, and start with something aggressive. When I buffed ALF, I started with an aggressive wool pad and the most aggressive buffing compound the body shop store had, to get the really bad scratches, then changed to a less aggressive orange pad using the same buffing compound. Then used a white pad with the same compound. When I was satisfied with the scratches, I used the white pad with polishing cream to finish the job. I bought black pads for a killer, final polish but ran out of enthusiasm. Sealed it up with a ceramic spray.

Just don't be so aggressive that you remove all the clear coat!

    2024 TRD OR long bed
All I can say about WI at the moment is it is a horrible place to find 2024 long bed TRD OR models whether on a dealer lots or incoming. Even worse if you don't want black, dark or stands out colors. That might not be the worst thing in the world because it is more time to decide on a 2024 Tacoma, new gen Land Cruiser or wait for 2025 models. I have a project coming up where convenience of a long bed might outweigh the crummy back seat and time wasted renting light trucks.

    :)
