I recently purchased new Toyo AT3 tires, moving up slightly in size from the stock Goodyear Wranglers (265/70/16) to 265/75/16 with an SL rating. I was expecting an improvement in ride quality since my old tires were very worn and overdue for replacement. However, I'm experiencing a pretty rough ride. Just driving down a paved road, hitting small bumps or cracks feels like I'm hitting a pothole. There's a lot of feedback from small bumps. The tires were balanced at America's Tire, and I also had an alignment done.

Has anyone else experienced a decrease in ride quality after switching to this size and tire? Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You positive the new tires are also SL (shop installed 3 incorrect tires on my truck, so worth checking each tire)? Did you check tire pressure (that they weren't over inflated)?

I checked the tire pressure, and it was reading 35 psi. I only checked one tire, but I will check the others tonight to confirm.

I'm pretty certain they are all passenger tires. I believe the LT model has a significantly different appearance, but I will double-check to be sure.

I've learned to check after my driver side had Duratracs (the tires i bought) and the passenger side and spare were Ultraterrains. Didn't realize until the next morning when I went to take a picture of the truck from the passenger side, lol. I mean, if they can screw that up, anything is possible.

They are supposed to be at 27 psi cold for that size and load. I have the exact same tire and I am happy with them at 27 which comes from a calculator based off of the stock size and pressure. They still will not ride like clouds, but I like a sturdy feeling tire myself. These feel surprisingly stout for being SL tires, and I like that personally. They are less stiff than my LT Toyos were.
