finally completed my adventures to all of the lower 48. I've driven to all these states in either my tacoma or tundra. I'm gonna have to go fill in some of the gaps and hit Alaska and Hawaii at some point. Only took about 7 years. It would have been less if I had traveled in 2020-2022 but getting laid off and getting a new job kinda threw a wrench in that.

definitely seen a lot of cool stuff. You can do a lot in a week or a long weekend and I would highly recommend it.

I’m hoping to do Alaska in the next few years. Just need to figure out how to get enough time off to do it the way I want. Think I need at least 3-4 weeks minimum to do it right

If anyone needs tires and wheels.... I would be interested but I recently spend too much on my truck already. In fact, I just got a box (with no stickers @!*&%$) today!

    :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

It's a set of Method rims and KO2s with only 2k miles.
    $2k for it all.
If I hadn't just spent a couple seconds worth of the federal budget on other fun parts, I'd have bought them.

    Very Cool.
On a train in Europe, I overheard a conversation of another traveler wanting to come to the U.S. of A.
All in a week he wanted to hit up NYC, Chicago, Vegas, L.A., and drive to Hawaii. o_O
I hit up 4 countries while there but in comparison, I never left the Midwest.
Seemed like a larger area while there.

I've come across others in my travels that don't realize how big this country is.

Damn that's super cool, congrats! I still have a ways to go but making progress. Past few years I've been staying within the state or U.P., this year I should be adding some states in the southeast when I go visit family. It is quite a big country out there and never enough time, but like you said you can get a lot done in a long weekend if you really put your mind to it. I went from home in the MKE/CHI out to Philly and back in 4 days once, busiest couple days maybe of my life but it's do-able.

    2024-07-02_16-16-37.jpg

This map isn't even everywhere, just the places I have tracked and shared on blog (mostly WI waterfalls and state parks). Pretty easy to tell where home is by density of those pins LOL.Technically I've been to GA, NY, and CT as well but those were quick work trips with no photos so I don't count them. Same goes for airports I've had layovers at but didn't spend any "real" time doing things. Indiana too because, well, Gary is nothing to write home about.

I probably should, my kids don't appear to be likely to give me any grandchildren. If they want an inheritance, they need to earn it!!

Yeah lots of people don’t realize how big the US is. On the flip side, I didn’t realize how small some of the countries in Europe are. I was in like 9 different countries in 9 days when I was there

It’s definitely a very different experience driving to all these places. Really puts into perspective how far apart things are and you find a lot of things in the middle you’d never see otherwise

a lot of my travel in the southwest was work related so I would work 3 days and have 4 days to explore. The other places were usually 7 days tops. I would usually put in a long first and last day so I could spend the majority of time in whatever area I was going. Never really felt rushed and had plenty of time to do whatever I wanted.

for all you Wisconsin guys, you should make a trip over to sleeping bear dunes. Pretty cool and not that far away.

I was gonna spend some time in the UP on my way back from Maine but the weather was like 90° so I skipped it and will save that for a long weekend trip when the weather is better.

See I get 6 weeks of PTO plus 12 holidays and 2 floating holidays.

But the pay means I can't do a whole lot with it all :bananadead:
