I want to ask have you ever changed your Pvc valve ? I'm 2017 OG owner currently passed 237k mi and I've had a issue with my rear main seal in the past , can't remember the exact mileage. So I was trouble shooting in my head why exactly my rear main seal would be failing , it's not super common in our 3rd gens but it does happen . So I was thinking well there is crankcase pressure. I've always went above and beyond on all my maintenance and it was killing me that this happened. Brainstorming and brainstorming what could have made this happen I take care all of my maintenance. Bamb damn PVC valve . I knew that if that possibly would plug that the rear main seal is a weak spot . So I'm not sure If i missed this in the maintenance portion of what Toyota recommends or they don't I may be corrected on this . Anywho changed my PVC valve Toyota OEM not expensive part and after a few weeks and a few cans of brake clean my rear main seal leak was gone . To this day oil leak is gone and I've put plenty of miles since I did that repair .

One more note I've been changing my oil every 3k mi sinced I hit 200k mi . My Tacoma just isn't my camping, offroading, haul random stuff , tow my overland trailer on road trips , Moab , grand canyon, glacier national Park, Reno , California coast , all over Oregon, norther Cali, Idaho , and everywhere in my home state of Washington. I go to work everyday in this truck minimum of 2 hr commute everyday and I take care of this truck and it takes care of me .

I have my original stock leaf pack and my upper and lower control arms are original. I first went the puck lift 3"F and 2" R rough country. Now I'm on the rough country 6" lift with their adjustable coils and their vertex reservoir shocks all around . For some crazy reason I went through 4 sets of their rear shocks and the 5th set is holding strong . Must of been bad batch . I did do a 2.5" aal and a 1.5" aal in the rear . No complaints here . I did add road active suspension systems to the rear leafs also . I tow and haul stuff all the time. Ummm did the woods custom one piece drive line , super happy with it . I mean I could go on with more stuff just ask . Truck has been great and still doing great . I change my oil every 3k now. I'm currently at 241k + . Been tuned on the ecu most of the trucks life and have been running premium fuel most of its life . Dual oil catch can set up . I have 6+ years of building my truck so just ask me anything.

Bit of a thread revival, but just spotted this on FB. CEL is on for a pre o2 sensor exhaust leak apparently.

May as well throw mine in.
146k km on my 2021. Currently replaced

    • Brake pads
    • Turned rotors, resurfaced drums
    • Brake shoes
    • Fan clutch (this is probably due to me putting it underwater more than once.)
    • Battery
    Current issues are
    • CV boot is tearing. This is also, likely due to a sharp object in mud.
    • Drivers side inner axle seal is leaking on the front diff. Also probably due to mud getting in.
For around 50k being either offroad, on fsrs, or towing 4-6k lbs? Not bad at all. No complaints from me. Average around 19mpg.
