Hey there, just recently purchased a 22’ TRD Sport Double cab and have been looking to do a 2.5-3 inch lift on it and have came across the Dobinsons IMS, Koni Offroad, and the Eibach Stage 2 but particularly one that has caught my attention is the Apache AX2 kit but cannot find any reviews or feedback online on the setup. The company Apache Offroad seems to be like a reputable one and the lift components look like they would be good quality. Anyone have any insight on this? Thanks!

I followed the link, and have never heard of that company/brand. I would avoid them unless you find some real world feed back on their products. Bilstein has kits in that price range, and they have quite the backing here on the forum.

It would appear that the coils and leafs are Dobinsons, based on the part numbers.

Somewhat of a late response, We are based in Texas- We have a big following in the Lexus GX pages, and the 4runner / FJ pages- especially on facebook; you should find plenty reviews in those pages if you want to have a look. We do not have AS large of a following in the tacoma pages as we only recently got into making parts for the tacoma. We personally own the other models (and tundras) and so we focused on those models first. We are one of the original dobinsons dealers in the states but we do make our own parts as well. Since we only make a couple of springs, we sell the ax2 kits with dobinsons coils / leaf packs. As a company we focus on quality first, since we do not advertise, we depend primarily on word of mouth and repeat business, thus cant really afford to make/sell bad parts haha. We spent about 3-3.5" years developing the ax2s and getting the tuning right. They are a linear valved, sport tuned IFP monotube with a very high quality Japanese seal set up in them. They have proven to be very reliable shocks with zero warranty claims to date. We offer a 2 year unlimited mile warranty on all of our parts, albeit it is very rare we have any. The dobinsons IMS out of your line up would be most similar in terms of performance. The Konis are non nitro charged twin tubes and the Eibachs are digressive monos- if you go the eibach route read the warranty as offroading with them voids it.

Are your shocks zero pressure shocks (similar to Ironman4x4)? Curious to know how they go so long without needing a rebuild.

I am looking for a new suspension setup for one of my GX460s, recently found you guys in an online search. I'd really appreciate a DM to discuss further - or we can keep it here to have information available for others as well.

    Cheers!

They are IFP Monotubes and are charged with nitrogen. The FCPs are Twin tubes. As for not needing rebuilds often, its a number of things - 3 stage high quality seals, high quality oil, low friction levels, tight tolerances etc. If you use facebook- thats the best way to chat (pm our business page) or via email sales@apacheoffroad.com
