Around the campfire last year I remember asking why Tacomas and 4runners couldn’t regear at the transfer case instead of the diffs. Apparently there isn’t enough room for the gears.

It seems the LC transfer case is bigger then? Next question…can I fit a LC transfer case on a 4runner???

Well, someone has to be a pioneer...though I belive they're NLA. The transfer case is an HF2A.

I've had the same thought, but regearing the diffs means non 2h also gets performance upgrades

Have you seen gas prices..... :angrygirl:

Lol. Hence me spending a lot of time in Missouri and Southern Illinois. Doing a scenic run Friday with @Sasquatch3153 before we start tearing his steering apart

Have you measured the driveshaft angles to see where you're at before spacing and shimming things?
Checking the angles should answer where you need to do what.

Gas mileage took a shit when I started adding everything. The price I pay for having fun.

Hive mind - I'm looking to have a partial respray (i.e. exterior panels and hatch, not the roof or hood) done to the 80, with welding and prep of most of the holes left behind from the fender flare/trim removal.

Any suggestions of shops you trust are appreciated!

    Oh ya.... :anonymous:

Truth is when cruising I get 20 in the built truck. The "stock" truck regularly sees 24+

But I have a hybrid.... Says so on the tailgate ...

Remember… “I stopped looking at 9 mpg”. 35’s and gas mileage don’t mix well

Mine never saw 20mpg even when stock. More than gas mileage for me…

Haha, I have the same badge on my truck's tailgate as the silver one, in almost the exact same place!

My tundra got 16-19 mpg on my trip to Maine. And people say the 5.7 gets terrible fuel economy

I posted a pic of the badge when I first put it on the truck...5 minutes later, I reconsidered and took the pic down. Figured I'd get a 30 day vacay!
