Depends on the bike. I used to always set mine for the tight end of clearance but an old Honda mechanic told me that on the smaller bikes, like my CB400F for example, you want to run it looser so it robs less power. Once I tried it I was surprised at how much peppier that little 4 cylinder felt.

I think 2 of the 3 CGs here does tires. One of them does not but there's a shop right behind that will do them for $30/tire.

I keep mine at the loosest possible setting, just because if there's a tight spot on the chain + you cycle the suspension aggressively it can really stretch out the chain.

I've seen some racers leave their chains crazy slacked out. As long as it doesn't fall off, I guess.

You should always base your adjustment on the chain's tight spot. I don't think a lot of people realize there is such a thing. Looser setting is sort of more forgiving and less wear on the sprockets up to a point.

I'm so happy the S10 has a driveshaft. I don't miss checking chain tension at all (though I need to on the KTM).

Loose for me, I was always afraid of chewing the output shaft bearing up. But with long travel suspension it can go from loose to too tight when you sit on it.

oh that's not the only reason don't worry

luckily there are plenty of reasons to stay too, subjective as that is.

The PNO process seems very reasonable to me. What’s wrong with it?

FWIW I am going to do that to the KTM this year.

I think he was more referring to the continuously accruing late fees on registration? from what I understand most states have a cap after a certain time. I don't really have any issues with it, I keep my paperwork current and don't deal with anyone who doesn't lol. I'll probably end up doing it whenever I switch the R3 or R6 to track fairings as well.
those are great tires, you'll be happy with em, the only complaint i've heard is they get eaten up quick but if it's on the KTM it shouldn't be an issue.

that reminds me, i actually need to get a new front on the BMW soon. The power 5 on there is starting to crack in the tread.

Got up this morning and took the zip tie off the brake lever. It worked perfect, lever is nice and firm. Now to go ride the FZ1 and feel the suspension adjustments.

    Aight, funny story time.

So Saturday I took a low-hanging cable to the face. I called out Sunday b/c I had a pretty decent headache(expected that) and I'm at the point in life that I'm not working when I feel bad since the company doesn't give a shit about us. Was off Mon and Tues.....get to work today and got nausea with light sensitivity and vomiting. I sat here and convinced myself I had a subdural. Never even thought about a simple concussion

Once I realized that....all is weel again. Nausea is gone and I'm back to normal. Even after all these years, it still amazes me what the mind can do.

All this tire talk got me to look into fresh tires for the vintage Honda. It's not too hard to pick when the only tire available in the sizes required are Shinko 712s. Not much around in a 3.00-18 front and 3.50-18 rear. I put tires on it when I got it back on the road but that was 2010-2011? It's garage kept and not ridden much but I really should think about fresh tires for it. What sucks is they'll age out and never get worn out since it's only ridden a few hundred miles per year.

I mean, considering it’s a one time fee of ~$20 and can be done online in a few minutes, there’s no reason not to do it.

I still have a lot of thread on the stock tires so I’ll likely wait a while before getting new ones, maybe for Black Friday I’ll get a set!

Oh i'm keeping them active for now cuz they're street legal lol. nice having a backup bike when the main is down.

That's what bugs me tho...my front still has decent tread left. but it's from October, and has had 2 trackdays on em + normal commuting so it's about time lol

So I was interested in this bike since it's a left over model that legit got forgotten about in the closet in a odd site storage back in 23. They have this bike marked down to 5k but Im waiting to hear what otd price is on it and if they have wiggle room since it has sat in a box for a year now..

I was just looking at the tag on the handlebar. $7400 is still crazy. It is just a trail bike. That is almost as much as a 250 true motocross bike like a CRF250.

Shinko is not a bad tire, I had a set on my Harley 48, similar to your Bolt, and they were great.
