Axe manual out. It will 100% give you a workout from hell. Just get the swag setup and toss it on an engine stand. JD2 is what I use

Noted, I have an extra engine stand too. I was not wanting to bolt anything to my garage floor with a manual setup either.

All JD2 aside from the swag mount.

Setting up like this is worth the added cost. I can bend tube anywhere I want just by rolling this thing around.

I played the manual thing once. The spring back in 1.75x.120 will drag you across the floor. Try it with 4130, and good luck.

Looks like swag makes a jd2 copy. Bender, ram, dies... probably in it for 1500$
Worth it to never have to leave my garage to do anything now.

I did see swags version as well. They all work pretty good really. Swag claims to have “fixed” JD2 issues. But after thousands of bends in various thickness material all the way to 2x.188. I have yet to have the issues they speak of.

Whatever you do, just don’t go rogue unless you have tall ass ceilings.

Didn’t realize your design bolted up to the stock catback so you could swap back and forth.

But even so, the factory exhaust manifolds are way more restrictive than the factory y-pipe, so anyone who buys it will likely already have *cough “off-road” headers…

I just purchased a JD2 with 1.75 and 2 inch dies. I am opting for electric operation. I need to order a motor and a stand or build something. I didn’t have anywhere to mount it that had the room to bend tube. Sure as hell wasn’t mounting it out in the driveway.

how do you get that voltage out of the system? i have a 250 alternator that delivers max at 2k but there is something in the oe system that blocks overcharging. i saw a thread about it years ago but can’t find the info again

There’s 3 ways to handle this. It can be done through the PCM. OR you can throw a 10$ diode in place of the 7.5 amp fuse. I would have to do some digging to find the PN again.

Or these guys also make this.

Even though Mi. may not have annual or bi-annual inspections would that prevent an officer stopping you and checking for modified emission equipment? There are places hear in Ca. that do not require "Smog" tests but you still have to maintain or use "Carb" compliant equipment. You could still be ticketed or worse. This is why people will license out of state but even that is a grey area. Just don't do things that draw attention to yourself regardless of where you reside.

lol, they would never even consider doing an “emissions inspection” on the side of the road. At the absolute most you might get a ticket for loud exhaust. But that’s really only if you’re driving like an ass!

Having lived in multiple states with and without inspections (currently happily in a non inspection state), it's hard to describe sometimes to people who have only lived in inspection states, how little the police and general public care what you do to your vehicle. There are of course plusses and minuses to this. Pluses are what we get to do to our trucks, and what the responsible tuner scene can accomplish. Negatives are that there are some absolute jalopies barely making it down the road.

I thought I read that in a previous post. Might be doing a MTB/overland trip up that way. Old roommate of mine has a lake house in St. Helen (Lower peninsula), and a cabin up in Pictured Rocks (near Munising). Was thinking of leaving Charlotte, head to Indianapolis (used to live there), and then dart up to Michigan and into the UP and then head down to Bentonville.

Anyone have some examples of engine swaps with 4wd? I'm just looking for some taco porn.
