What Have You Done To Your 4th Gen Today?

It's not a good feeling contacting any bump stop, whether internal or external. And suspension bottom-out isn't related to bump stops at all, it's shocks and springs that determine that. I think the Bilstein's do a pretty good job for what they are, although they do not like high speed hits very much.

 

Turned off the annoying seatbelt alarm!! I usually wear my seatbelt but I have a long driveway and often get in an out of the truck for various reasons. I don't need that thing screaming at me every time I move the truck. I do live in the only state without a seatbelt law so there is that.

Not true. I had Duro Bumps on the front of my 3rd gen and it was liking hitting a cloud. You’d barely even notice it. And that would happen before the coilovers bottomed out..

Bump stops are designed to stop/prevent your shocks from bottoming out and provide some extra cushion between frame and axle and when they’re integrated together they’re very much related.

 

Prevents UV fading/damage of clearcoat

 

Who makes those rock sliders? Looks awesome

 

Not to be pedantic, but they aren't rock sliders. They look like the TRD Pro rocker rails. The TrailHunter has actual frame mounted rock sliders, in case you're looking for something oem.

Installed the King rear sway bar end links and went out for a nice ride. The rains here washed out the road and I was able to test the flex. I also played with the locker/4LO and it took some time to figure out the dash lighting up like its Christmas.

 

Did you have before and after measurements?

 

No. I already had the shocks installed and that gave the biggest upgrade. I think the end links are mostly about having stronger joints and the looks.

Had a can of spray on box liner lying around.

 

I touched up a few rock chips with some colour match touch up paint and added a small section of PPF on the rear fender bulges. My first hand PPF. I’ll give it a pass anyway.

 

How's the ride on the Timbrens? I was kinda considering waiting for the Sumos, but considering these as well. I'm occasionally pulling a 4300# trailer but don't want to kill the ride when not hauling it.

 

How you like the setup, ordered mine and first time spending that dough on suspension, hopefully worth it.

 

It’s definitely different than stock bumps due to it being much longer, but I’m waiting on decked system and rear 1” spacer to load it up some more. Have only been doing city driving. I’ll update once I have more time with it.

The material is def softer than stock bumps.

I would want to see how much of a gap you have between the bump and axle when loaded with your trailer

 

Unloaded, do you find it makes contact a lot sooner and roughens the ride? Our roads are shit here in Chicago, just don't want to be bumping all over the place when I'm just city driving - but want the benefit of having the extra stiffness in the rear when the trailer is loaded.
