Just trying to see where else it’s attached. Looks like it might connected to the Tstat?

Thermostat housing is its own piece held by I think 3x 12mm or 3x 10mm bolts so there's no need to mess with it; you do that you'll end up draining coolant and needing to burp the system

Think that bracket you're trying to pull has 4x total; you don't have a new one to compare?

That's the bracket for adjusting tension for your pulley hence the slot

Somehow, in my twisted Nissan past, I got the notion that a starter mating surface should never be painted because it is needed for grounding. The 2UZ surface was not painted, though I don't recall seeing any paint on the valley. I left this starter mating surface bare.

I still am struggling to get these fan clutch bolts off though. I guess I can just reuse it and keep my new one as a spare..

About 2 weeks back I stated to use 6 wall sockets/wrenches

You're using a 12 and that'll easily strip those nuts and make it even harder to remove

Ok well I might take a break and bike over to the parts store then. Does it look like I’ve already stripped them?

A few other sides still look straight

Get you some penetrating fluid, and maybe a set of vice grips (hell, I've even used a channel lock for similar shit) and liberally spray those nuts

It's ok to set it aside for awhile to let fluid work itself in and wrench it off later

Got one of these at my buddy's shop, I'm tall and conflicted on whether it is more comfortable or not haha. Guys I bought it from had it for working on outboard motors

Probably just grounds through the bolts

    Huh?

    What do you mean?

It just goes on by hand; you have a bracket at the alternator for adjusting tension which you'll want to loosen up to physically push your alternator inward
