Wow, that is nice. I wonder how much it weighs and if it would bog down a regular cab 4x4 Tacoma or not. The 2.7 motor may not like it as much as I do.

I installed the head unit back in april when i was new to wiring and splicing and tapping stuff and then it hit me last night, “wouldn’t the steering wheel controls have their own wires to power them?” 30 minutes later i had steering wheel controls:D

roughly 300 pounds before solar and fan awning etc. My truck is a 2.7 4cyl but i have regaered to 5.29 and basically replaced the camper for something that had similar weight on the truck. My truck is def slow but its doable is all i can say.

The same shit everyone else has.
It appears I’ve become the latest victim of the shitty door check design of these trucks.

I’d notice an intermittent grinding noise open and closing the door. Never thought much of it. I’d lube the door hinges and check and it would eventually go away.

Anyways. I left work yesterday and the truck door was super was super hard to open but I forced it open. Got home. Super hard to open again but got it. Figured it was the hinges so I lubed em and worked the door back and forth until it fully opened.

I went to hockey and parked the truck. Tried to shut the window and it went up about 4”. Gave up after fighting with it to play hockey and drink beers.

    Fast forward to this morning.

    Pulled shit apart. Found this.

At some point, the door must have opened too far and bent the mounting points for the door check.

The piece of shit door check had been rubbing against the window track.

The stupid thing finally caught on the frame. Forcing the door opened bent the shit out of the track.

I bent it back into shape enough to open and close the window. I also had to trim the check so it would stop catching on the frame.

What a piece of shit design.

    New track is ordered.

Installed mounts for Maxtrax boards on the roof rack of the 2015. I screwed up when drilling the holes so they ended up being 2 per side instead of 1. Apparently measure twice cut once wasn't enough, plus I wasn't showing away $50 worth of aluminum.

I hated dealing with that. I replaced the door check, the motor and arms that move the window up and down, and window frame after I rolled down my window one day and it fell off track into the door. still makes a clunk when the window goes up and down.

Brotha, do you happen to have the part number for the track? I need to replace mine and can't find it anywhere.

Where were you with this info 2 or 3 weeks ago? Haha.
In all seriousness though, all the ones I found when searching were closer to $100.
