I just bought a 1700 mile 2008 KLX450R for $4K… I would have somewhat preferred a newer bike. That price would have hooked me for sure. I have no regrets on the 450 after putting a few hundred miles on it. They are vastly different platforms, but the 300s are so sweet.

Got some goodies all the way from Fra-gee-lee, Italy. Stubby one is for the Super Duke (RIP the Yosh Alpha-T, low sided into the Valhalla), long one is for the Africa Twin (no real reason for this except .4% weight reduction on a bike ridden by a fat man). Hopefully will have garage time this weekend.

Not many photos but did some riding today to go get boba and some earbuds for the gf. Gotta see my buddy's new to him 96 gold wing (buddy with the 78 goldwing) he has wanted one of these for awhile and found a not so beat up one for a good price. Then helped him move his 71 cl450 over to his brothers place so they can change the timing chain and adjust the timing since it's off by one or two teeth and running bad. Also if you have never looked at a 71 cl450 head I'd do it... Such an odd design with how the chain goes through the head and there is no valve cover very interesting design.

Meh. It's a pain in my butt.

Bit of a basket case. Alternator wasn't charging originally, hydroboost didn't fit right, clutch master had to be modified, had to buy a speedo converter to cable drive, reverse solenoid hardwired, new rear brakes have been a pain in my butt. Just a little of everything. But it looks good from 20.

No sir still have the cat. Prioritizing suspension over any power mods right now. How are you getting along with yours?

I have never been more impressed with a moto than a 5th gen (2016ish) Goldwing F6B DCT. Yes it was heavy standing still, though easy to maneuver as it was low. Then once you got moving more than 2mph, mind blown. The thing was surprisingly light feeling and flickable. Pulled like a gdamn freight train, rode ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, super comfy and planted and stopped WAY too good. The DCT was also something amazing. I swung a leg over the bike with my nose stuck up in the air at this old mans "automatic" bike and quickly went... oh how i was wrong.

And the newest generation makes a little more power n torque but is like 90lbs LIGHTER.

Dunno if its a bike Id buy and ride right now in my life, but if I wanted to live the moto life on the road it would be at the top of my list.

I run Supercorsa's on the Aprilia. They're not cheap and they aren't going to give you a lot of life, but they do warm up quickly and provide good feedback. That reminds me, I need to order a rear for Racer Days. 200/55/17 $400 tire change :bananadead:

That makes sense and not like the bike is lacking in power. I'm lucky to be near Solid Performance KTM so if I ever do suspension would have them go through it. I've been thinking about exhaust, mainly to ditch the cat but don't want anything too loud.

As for the bike I love it! The LC8 is glorious I can ride that bike all day long. My next goal is a trackday but planning to take my 701 first. What other mods have you done to yours?

Hope you all had a good 4th celebrating our great nation!

In the spirit of the holiday, my quadlock decided to claim its own independence on the freeway at about 85-90mph. Along with my phone lol. Spent about 3 hours searching for it after getting the last location from my brother with no luck. Fortunately I have my previous phone that I can stick a new SIM card in but still quite annoying. Can't get into any of my email or bank accounts yet since everything is two-factor authentification through my cell number lol.

kind of a similar vibe. Cruiserish. Comfy. Will carry lots. Eats twisties like an italian. no chain to fool with. Valve adj in minutes. Cheap (< 3k all day long)

oh SHIT! man I'm sorry to hear this. 'like' does not mean like! you know the drill.

More info needed. What failed? I've been a Ramball guy for 15 years and a quad lock/ramball guy for 6. Never lost a phone. Please do tell.

I'm hoping to get 3-4 track days out of a set of them since the RC390 is so light and low on power. How many days can you get out of yours? That Aprilia probably shreds tires lol
