A little something every chance we get.
I'm probably one of a few people interested in the latest Beryl path, which is now inclusive of us.
And I'm OK with that and sort of excited about 5" of rain next week! Fill up those dammed lakes! ('cause they are all made with dams.)

Not worried! Hopefully, be happy! If not going through Houston, TX will be better off.

Morning all! Class of ‘65. Two great grandkids, four grandkids (18-38), had two daughters of which one died of a heart attack in her 50s and the younger has trigeminal neuralgia…brutal and rare disease. But life goes on.

A nice 81* here today and sunny. Kettlebell day then watering. Haven’t had more than .10” of rain since May. Hoping Beryl will push a bit of moisture our way but not looking like it. Oh well, we shall make do with what ever the weather is!

    Have a beautiful day!

4th of July project was continuing the work on the garage. I built a new workbench. Narrower, 16" deep. 2" thick ash slab for the top.
    20240704_153641.jpg
    All salvaged materials.
    20240704_153738.jpg
    Set it in place temporarily.
    20240704_155232.jpg
I'm going to build and attach a can tray to fill the gap between the wall and the bench.
    20240704_155243.jpg
    The vice will go here.

It still needs a rough sanding and some kind of finish. Maybe I can work on it over the weekend. Today is a work day.

I graduated in '63. My daughter is 34 - two years younger than your oldest grandchild, I was a late starter.

Now that is a bench to be proud of. I like the idea of a can tray. What are you thinking about for a finish?

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
You can have some of ours...we've had more than our share in the past month and a half...over 8" in the last 2 weeks!

Rained again last night but it held off just long enough to get the fireworks show off. The final volley was going up and a few drops started coming down. Didn't amount to much more than getting everything wet.

Probably just an oil based polyurethane just to seal the top. Nothing fancy just whatever i have left over in my wood shop, it's just a mechanics work bench.

It's been so bad here that 30% of the county's tillable land hasn't been planted this year, too wet to work. That which was planted, maybe 15% of that has been drown out. The old saying for corn is knee high by the 4th of July...about half isn't but mid-shin, the rest is mid-thigh. Soybeans look terrible. Wheat was looking good, then we had some wind storms that knocked a bunch of that down. The farmers just can't get a break.

    Nice bench, Greg!

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Going to force myself to mow here in a bit. At least I was more mobile late yesterday. I'm not on a timer, so....
