Agreed. I'm not going to expect that kind of dog to live in an apartment with me. Even if I came home as often as possible he'd be in the kennel for 4 hours at a time 5 days a week. Not okay. I need a backyard or a dog run.

Lost my Brittney of 9 years earlier this year. She was the best dog I ever hunted with. I know everybody says that but her nose and natural ability was just hard to believe. I knew that last fall would probably be her last full hunting season due to her hips but I was really hoping to start another dog with her in the field. Unfortunately she went past our underground fence, don't know why, we have deer and turkey in our front field all the time and she always would just stand at the edge of the field and watch them. Any further and she would get a jolt. For whatever reason she got past it and was hit by a car. I looked for her for 2 days from sun-up to sun-down but eventually one of the locals called and said that they had found her in their ditch. She got into it with some coyotes last year and I'm thinking she was just pissed when they came back through. Anyways.....I've always liked the GSP's, they're tough, hard working, low coat maintenance and very smart. I was thinking that was gonna be my next bird finder and now it is. Here she is, "Charlotte"..........God I hope she's worth the work, she's got a tough act to follow!

Doggie Daycare. Works wonders if you'd like to have a dog but don't have the space to run him.

But seriously, as much as I want a couple dogs I'm just not home enough for it to be fair to them. One of my feline friends acts strangely similar to a dog.
    He acts like a dog:
