From all the information I can find is that all Hybrid Tacomas including the Pro and Trailhunter models are assembled in the Guanajuato plant. Can anyone confirm that the Hybrids are NOT made at the Baja California plant?

Can't confirm with 100%, but all the ones showing in stock are 3TY.

Hopefully this fixes the body alignment issues that the TX 3rd gen had.

Yeah it’s hard to believe that an established plant in the US that also produced the Tundra couldn’t fix a simple body alignment issue on the Tacoma.

Somewhat related, I’ve always been curious if there’s any consensus on build quality between 3TY (Guanajuato) and 3TM (Baja California) built trucks. As I recall for the third gens, each factory received engines from a different source (Alabama for Guanajuato)

I personally work at the Lexus plant in Cambridge and from what I gather the BC plant is somewhat primitive in more manual labour and less robots.
The Guanajuato plant is still quite new with all the latest manufacturing robots and technology. I’ve had two 3rd Gen Tacomas out of Guanajuato and they have been solid with no issues other than a squeaking headliner.

We have 5 rav4s in my family and my dad just bought an RX350, I had to slowly explain to him we are supporting Canadian factory workers. Proud of that fact and how few issues we have with the models.

GM can kiss my ass after what they did to ontario workers, so far Toyota seems like they are committed to TMMC for a very long time.

Too bad the factory is in a different country entirely.

Good point and I think Toyota is paying the price for moving all Tacoma production to Mexico since they’re having trouble with parts suppliers as we saw in March that production was halted for 19 days due to parts shortages. In a sense the fact that they are now relying on cheap Mexican labour has backfired on their profits. Kind of ironic!

They’ve been building Tacomas in Mexico for 20 years. It’s not a new development.

Toyota never still learn from BS about 3.4 V6 engines made in Mexico crap. Con Rods blow out through engine block because con rod bearing caps were not torque down.

I do wonder if the drug cartels mess with Toyota. They’ve been around 20 years too, but the past five have been pretty ugly.
