I had to anchor ALF to another tree. The bush was stubborn and was dragging Alf across the yard.

Pulled a stubborn one out with my 1st gen. and no winch.
There was one main root about 5' long and an inch or so in diameter that went straight down like a rope anchoring it in.

It wasn't too bad, largest root was about 2-3 inches in diameter

I've used the winch for as much yard-work as I have recoveries. Super handy!

Believe me, if you saw the one’s I’m planning on “not tree saving”, you’d want to kill them too lol. Nasty things have lived too long!

Granted, that’s probably due to laziness on my part. But now, they’re big enough to winch, so I think that turned out to be rather convenient now hasn’t it lol

Unlike all the people using recovery equipment to destroy foliage, I'm using a old tow strap to keep a apple tree from tipping over.

There was a good reason to have bought that strap!

I just lost a Chaco to the lake yesterday. Got stuck in the muck and when I lifted my foot, it stayed in the lake.

Feels like everyone is vacationing and I'm the one who drew the short straw and had to work a full day.

For me, no work all week. Getting paid for the 4th and 5th. I chose not to use vacation for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. I rather use it later. Now I sitting on the trucks tailgate watching it rain while I have ribs in the smoker. The wind is kinda in my favor.

Good choice for a rainy day.
I'm saving this brisket for a rainy day. Never did one before so this year I told the butcher I wanted it.
Now I have this big ass brisket in the deep freeze to experiment with. I think it's only half, too.

    I've never done a brisket.
I'm doing my ribs different this time. I have them cut into individual pieces. Couple of hours on the grate then in a covered pan with sauce and juice.
    Got the recipe online.
