    I recently installed a Prosport Evo oil pressure gauge on my 3rd gen with the 3.5 V6 and am curious on what oil pressure values others are reading at idle.

    I’m getting down to 7-8 psi at idle (500 rpm) which seems really low to me. At 2500 rpm I’m reading 35psi, 4500 rpm is 55psi

    anyone else been tracking oil pressure?

    I would like to compare, but I am not aware of anyone else having mentioned adding a gauge. How difficult was it to add?

    If you're getting up as high as 35 and 55 at 2500 and 4500, then you're probably good. But I do agree that 7-8 psi at idle seems low.

    The pressure at idle is fine. 2nd gen is the same , about 4.2 psi

    @Vlady coming in handy with the data, thanks much. What is that you're using for reference? Looks useful

    @BLtheP Just a few extra steps beyond an oil filter change. The stock oil pressure on/off switch is located on the filter housing just above the filter cartridge. Removed the stock sensor and added a T-fitting with a tapped npt port for an aftermarket switch and a spot for the original sensor. Then just wiring like anything else, not too crazy.

    You don't happen to remember the thread size of the engine port?

    No idea if this is correct for our engine. They also sell a 1/8 adapter for an aftermarket gauge.

    Thank you for the link. It seems it uses British Standard Pipe, 1/8-28 which is not precisely the same as National Pipe Thread, but maybe close enough.

    @auskip07 @JohnDeere630 @jdmADOBO
    Apologies, I’ve been offline for a minute.

    Yep, 1/8 bspt -1/8 bspt to 1/8npt tee. I used this unit off Amazon and I’m very happy with it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PK9JHQM

    The only thing is that it is stainless and a tapered npt thread so you gotta be sure not to overtighten or you’ll be rethreading the oil filter housing. Just a few turns with thread sealant and it sits nicely with no leaks and reads well.

    I’ll do a writeup soon - gotta get to installing the accusump so I’ll be down there and can take some pictures.

    how do you like your gauge? the glare on the pictures makes it look like it will be difficult to read during the day
