Wife and I graduated same year, same school, and never knew each other. Got together in '77.

Mornings here recently have been in the upper 50s.

If Norrix is still there, it's the only school I attended that still is. That metal pedestrian bridge over South Westnedge? My elementary school got that done; because it was too scary to do Safety Patrol for kids crossing that street. We helped our teachers and PTA with that project.

That bigger building on the West side was my elementary school. It's been several things since. I suppose people still use that to get across.

Didn't have it when I was a kid, but they have the Kalamazoo Promise, which is pretty cool.

Kazoo is amazingly resilient; gone are the GM plant, Checker Motors, Gibson Guitars, many of the downtown anchors and big names, and much more (duh - Upjohn!). Yet, every time I visit my sister (in Schoolcraft), I am amazed by all the business, food, entertainment, and the shape of the city itself.

Well, you will just have to go see "Duke and the Loose Cannons" at Ruggers Down under for a Happy Hour. Tell Craig the bass player I sent ya' in my place!

Went to High School about 3 miles west of you. Grew up near Marconi and Fulton.

As a kid, I remember asking Mom about the street names. Most were named for inventors, so it was great fun for the bookworm (I was the sickly child, the youngest of six, but left at home with many books) to figure out who they were named after.

Edison, Marconi, Fulton, Wright, Bell, Hurley, Northrup, Morse, etc. Those street names were laid out in the 1920s-1940s. No inventor named El Camino, so Mom suspected it was named after the Mission Trail. Some names were Jesuits.

As a kid, friends of my dad lived out at Phoenix Fields. Fly in the neighborhood, an old airport long since bulldozed and paved over.
