hoping some 1/4" really keeps the bumper from sagging and cracking the welds on the main bracket lol. had to run to HF for wire and I'm impressed it ran better than the Lincoln that I bought from home Depot lol

Woke up up high in the Idaho mountains, now bumbling around northern Nevada. Sometimes life is good.

    LOVE this.

Hubs helped get my starter fixed, replaced brake master (again) and attempting to restore my aux battery with a clean cycle. But she starts again so I can go play!!!

I also drove Dusty (the 4runner) for the first time since we got it -- and of course took us off road to show off a camp spot me and the dog found several months back -- looking forward to it. :) AND DANG 4runner is so EASY to offroad - she creeps so nice and the decel is amaz-bawls. So easy to do it all - now I feel like I got skillz. lol.

I'm tall and have worried about how it would work. I think we are about the same height. I'm so hopeful that it works out. After I brought it up in the 100s FB group, I learned that one of my buds up in KC uses one (first picture). I didn't know this. For me, it's about reaching over the bumper.

I have an idea about an l-bracket that I want to float with @Kwikvette to make the hood open up wider. One of the few things I liked about a W123 was how the hood would open up so high. I think some simple l-brackets to bolt in the hinges might help there.

    upload_2024-7-6_9-19-2.png

Then, Nestor in the 100 group made an extension.

    upload_2024-7-6_9-20-52.png

The first time I saw one being used was on a 60 series.

    upload_2024-7-6_9-30-46.png

I think some l-brackets at the right angles might make this near possible. It would be a bolt-on for big projects.

I'm having trouble getting them off on the LX. Since it was fairly new, I wanted to move the fan pulley to the LC. I have two different tools to hold the fan pulley in place while removing a bolt over the years. They are not working, and seeing this brought back memories of how we tightened up the crankshaft pulley bolt on a VH45. It took a chain wrench to hold the pulley. We would take part of a belt wrapped in duct tape to keep it in place, then use a chain wrench to hold the pulley in place to keep it from turning. I'm reverting to some techniques that I used over 15 years ago.

Yesterday, I bought a box end 6-point to hopefully keep from stripping the nuts.

    Oh hell yeah!

The real reason I clear urethane on aluminum parts is to keep them from tarnishing and to make them easy to clean. I know everything will be covered in mud, so it makes cleanup easier.

Also, after I discovered the drain holes in the 2uZ valley, I won't worry about the water down there when I clean up.

If I can get some flat tin, I could cut it to fit with the exact location of holes and send them to you to use as patterns.

    That works too

I've got some spare 1/8" which should work perfectly for the application

Thick enough to work as a solid mount but cheap enough to produce
