Hey guys, I have done a lot of searching for rims and tires to put on my truck. I have..
    2011 Tacoma TRD in Charcoal
    4.0L V6 4WD
4 Door w/ standard bed size I believe
    I also have a 3in lift

But anyway, I plan to go with some 17x9 ET-12 Rock Trix Rims and BFG KO2 white walled 285/70r17 tires. Which Sums out to about 33in of tire+rim size. Will I face any problems with this setup or should I be all good?

I’ve attached some pics below of what my truck looks like and what I plan to buy for her. Thanks!IMG_1833.jpg

Invariably with 33's you will have rubbing.

Oh, you have a 5.5' bed, which is a short bed, the other is a 6' bed. The 6" is between the wheel well and front of the bed. It's obvious when you know where to look.

I’ve read that some trimming would fix that problem, but only if it rubs a little. if it is too much of a hassle do you think dropping it down to 32” would be good?
    Maybe 275/70r17 and finding a rim that’s 17x8?

and with the bed, I dont know what to look for I haven’t done full research I guess lol. I appreciate it though

I went with 275/70/17 17X8.5 0 offset. Truck has a 2" extended travel lift. Had to trim some plastic... cleared the cab mounts by 1/2-3/4". Also, did the pinch weld mod just to be on the safe side. I think with a 3" lift it will be close with 33's and-12 offset.... plastic trim and possible cmc if you offroad hard. Personally, with your 3" lift i'd go with the 33" to fill the wheel wells better and trim/cut/hammer accordingly.

Had this exact setup on a 2in level and only rubbed full turn in reverse. A light cmc would have fixed the issue but I just dealt with it

Man I really like the way that looks! I would love to get some 33’s but the whole reason I considered doing 32’s is so I don’t have to do any trimming. But, if the trimming is worth it, I’ll figure out how to get it done:thumbsup:. You think it’ll be worth it to do that?

Man if you were alright with a 2in level kit, I should be good to run some 33’s then right?

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
You had me confused. This is a white walled tire:

What you're looking at is Raised White Lettering.

I think you'll have less chance of rubbing with a narrower wheel, depending also on your offset.

I went with 32's mainly because with my 2" lift less chance of having to do a cmc, less plastic trimming, and less power loss going up steep switch back mountain road pulling the boat up to a lake at 6,000' (didn't want to take the chance of needing to regear.) I rubbed the front mud flaps in front of the cab mounts and trimmed/moulded with heat gun to clear.

Makes sense now. I was thinking that too but all my buddies call tires with white letters “white walled” lol.

I wanna run some larger tires that’s why I wanna run some wheels that have -12 offset

I love the way that looks. I’m thinking I should go with 32’s because with my 3in lift I won’t have to do any trimming to the truck (hopefully):fingerscrossed:

I haven’t seen too many people run the or talk about KO3’s. I always see KO2’s everywhere

I’ll look into it and see what I wanna do. Thanks for the reccomendation!

    This thread would be helpful:

So far everyone seems to agree they are better than the KO2.
