My fence guy seemed to think moisture introduced into a post came mostly from the top, not as many people think the bottom, even pressure treated. He recommended metal post caps, I passed.

    Have a good weekend all.

That's most likely correct. Which is why you don't want concrete at the vary bottom of the post and instead use pea gravel or some other permeable media in the bottom of the hole, so the water that flow down from the top will have a means to exit out the bottom. Otherwise, the if the bottom is sealed off with concrete the water will seep down and soak into the wood and cause it to rot. You don't need a metal cap, but you do want a means for water to flow through.

Alright Shop, the holes are dug, 3ft deep.

Got treated 4x4 posts in the garage getting their second coat of deck sealer, then I'll tape the in ground part with shurtape. (Cause it's what I have) 20240706_103216.jpg

Good Saturday afternoon friends! Hope everyone had a great 4th, we had a good vacation. Just got done mowing, getting ready to spray for termites. Got 2 3/4” of rain while we were gone, that’s a blessing!!!

Some friends of ours around the corner that bought a house we considered looking at are ate up with termites and are getting fumigated Monday. Door jambs winder sills sounds like we dodged a bullet there.

I wanted to share an easy set it and forget it crock pot recipe we've been doing with swedish meatballs, we've done it with venison and beef tips. Don't forget the last step, 1 cup sour cream at the end. Over noodles.

Totally had the wrong pic in my head.

I was thinking drive the mower/ tractor up to a bar and grab a cold one.

I'll see myself out, prolly got a meeting I should be attending, anyways.

Made 5 gallons of termite spray with 80ml of pesticide. Put it in backpack sprayer and sprayed liberally inside boards of shop, twice, outside perimeter of shop, twice, around house and deck post. Got a lot more left.

    Uhm?

    Isn't that the point?

You don't want sweat building it, but it's
fine to sweat while using it?

I kid, I kid, great job on the project!
