2024 NASCAR THREAD

It has been a rumor for over a year now. It's an attempt to get manufacturers interested in the sport (Dodge was rumored to not be interested without some sort of EV). Unfortunately there isn't a ton to gain for manufacturers anymore when everything in the cup series is set to a certain spec and nothing is stock anymore. Not much R&D left in old school V8s for them anymore thanks to regulations so it's hard to justify investment in the series, particularly for new manufacturers.

 

I was hoping to see what Kyle Larson could do with him if they got close.

 

Could happen tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing the Cup guys race on a track unlike last year

 

I didn't get to catch last year's race. Is there anything different this year?

 

Way better weather. Last year was a mess with rain delays, wet track and puddles everywhere

 

I do seem to recall hearing that passing was kind of at a premium. I mean KB finished in the top 5, if I remember correctly

Yep, that's the straw that will break this camels back. I will definitely be done with liberal car, aka nascar.

 

SVG and Larson put on quite the show during the first stage or so. I was impressed how clean both were racing each other while still pulling away from Gibbs (although the race was still young). Gibbs made no mention at all of SVG in his post race interview, just complained about his car, even though he's got the best stuff in the field.

 

Logano placed 8th driving Deegan's #15 Ford. So I guess we cant blame the equipment.

 

And Logano is not known for his road racing ability. HD is just a new version of DP.

 

I'm pretty sure Danica Patrick has more skill in her pinky finger than HD has all together, but that's not saying a lot.

In all fairness all he had to do was avoid the spins and keep it clean. He ran around 15th all day, which is still better than Deegan usually runs.

Solid and I think the 54 may be lurking near the end too. But like any other race you gotta be there in the end to win. If you run with the dogs you’re going to get fleas.
