In the spirit of WI TW sharing. I offer all a White Russian and soon to be Kevin Bacon Burgers. Since tomorrow I have 2 appointments and I go back to work (for what I don't know). Today, we are celebrating Kevin Bacon's birthday.

I second this, most vehicles after 2000 have bearings that go bad before you see any play. Put it up on stands and put a stethoscope to the hubs while the wheels are spinning

Looks delicious. I'm in the kitchen making steak for tacos. Should have been done on the grill, but the damn rain keeps coming and going.

I'm in Alabama so I can't cook for myself right now. But on the plus side apparently I get an airline discount at this restaurant!

And it was fucking amazing, the cheesecake after was the icing on the cake

Hmmm, I think I’ll have to inspect the tires more carefully and check the date code on them. Not too worried about the brakes causing the sound based on what I saw.

Also good info. I was hoping to have ruled the bearings out, but it seems the wiggle test isn’t going to be conclusive then.

The point about it being a 24 year old vehicle is fair. Plenty of bad really rough asphalt roads here in PR that makes it rattle like a I’m dragging a burlap sack-full of empty chef boyardee cans down the road. But this groaning bearing sound can only be heard on the sections of fresh, smooth asphalt when the car has no reason to be making noise.

Even though it sounds like bearings, it’s just odd that I can’t tell that it’s coming from any one corner in particular. Seems to be coming from everywhere on the car. Oh well, I might have much time to trouble shoot this before I leave, so it may have to wait. If it’s the tires, they’re fairly new, and as long as they look structurally good, there’s no point replacing them. But I’ll need to stay suspicious of those bearings.

She’s a good ship though, and has gotten us all over the place. Today, we were on back roads just exploring all day long, can’t be too upset with the old gal

Would it be reasonable to not suspect the rears wheels if they spin like a literal top? They spun ridiculously well lol. The fronts, however, instill want to suspect because even though they were quiet, they seemef draggy for unknown reasons (maybe because of brakes, or the possibly bad bearings).

The fronts can be hard to discern. I've found the rears are usually easier to hear which side they are when they start going.

Sometimes, on a flat dry parking lot, a low speed sharp turn in either direction (crank dat mofo) will make it obvious.

But at the end of the day

1A: on a lift, turn off traction control, and have someone in the driver seat "driving" the car at about 30-40 mph

1B: stethoscope (automotive preferred) to each of the 4 hub assemblies. The bad one will sound like the independence day radio signal in your ears

2: replace both sides anyway. Evenly worn parts are the best parts :D

Nice! Looks like everyone ate well yesterday!

I stopped by @Pixeltim yesterday on the way home from my Mom's and we went for a boat ride, and ended up at Christy's Landing. I had some kind of Chorizo burger, which was delicious, but messy!

That look on my face is me realizing that more of the burger was going to end up on my face than in my mouth.

Shouldn't be anything embarrassing. I cleared my plate like a big boy.

Then I went in the bathroom and washed my face. :D
