Yes I have those clamps. I just needed a better way of being able to cut items that are not so extreme (death wheel) or slow (Dremel). I think that cut off tool will be the perfect medium.

I have a M12 3/8" stubby on my list. I also have a right handed circular saw on the list.

 

You can just use a wood saw to cut pvc

 

That, or a hacksaw.

 

I figured. And I assume, that as expensive as those 2'x4' precut pieces will be, it'll make cutting them easier than trying to rip down a 1"x4" piece.

 

I'm talking about cutting the pvc pipe with a hacksaw. done many a time.

Since the Milwaukee tools were bought up.. get the folding hacksaw for smaller/precise cuts. Works with all sawzall blades.

the M-12 Hackzaw too. It’s a short stroke at a half inch, But works great. Bought it to use at work.

I have been eyeing that tool, too. I like it for smaller landscaping and smaller cuts where a chainsaw would be too much.

You mean like cutting pvc pipe?

 

Straight, diameter cuts? Absolutely. Channeling out PVC length wise in 3 foot sections? Probably not the best tool.

 

Dang! My fault.. I thought you were looking to do a cross cut, not a rip cut length wise. I guess I'm the dummy now.

That said.. your best bet is a upright bandsaw or table saw. Or.... I'm not sure what exactly you're doing and wasting your time.

 

If he's gonna rip it, he should just get the circular saw out.

 

I have a 4 3 foot sections of 1.25" diameter pipe and I need to remove a .75" wide section to slip over the foam that comes on the Harbor Freight portable work stands. This is to protect the foam from getting tore up by plywood.

 

Ok.. I think I gotcha.. Turning an O into a C

 

If that's the case I would just rip them in half & use a hose clamp on both ends.
