NEW 2ND GEN GRILLE???

I got a message from a seller from eBay that mentioned that reason why it doesn’t say it in the description that the letters come with it but he had the other version of the grill. All other seller I’ve sent messages to have the grill I want but don’t include the letters.

I see one grill is one whole piece the other looks like it can be separated or two pieces.

Two Piece Grill? I am assuming cause of the screws on the backside that it can be taken apart.

The VIPIH one is one piece. The center section doesn't come out. But that's what I wanted cause I was getting rid of the chrome surround.

 

My objective is the same…I’m looking at the 2 piece so that the center mesh section can be removed, and then the outer grill surround piece can be painted body color. But I want the TOYOTA letters. I even checked Etsy but everything on there are overlays for existing letters.

If any one has a source for the correct letters, several of us could use them.

 

I believe the font of the letters on this 2 piece grille is slightly different

 

Ended up purchasing the OEM honeycomb grill. Noticed the center mesh can be separate but unlike the aftermarket grills where they can be separate by the screws the oem grill tabs are melted in place. You'd have to grind down the melted tabs to separate it.

Also came across this grill as well. Sort of like it as an option. I might send the chrome one that on the truck now out to have it replicated like that.

 

IDK some of these parts coming off eBay aren't really as advertised. The fit up is just a little off to make it annoying but I guess they still work

 

Yup, messaged a couple sellers about the grills theyre selling and most say its the one piece grill but also have the grill with the removable inner grill. I'm going to try finding someone local that has one and that would include the letter.

 

4 years later how has this grill held up ? Have been wanting to get a new grill. Want the homer taco version but they are a lot of $ plus i don’t like playing the waiting game

@TacoTuesday1 I had to call around a bunch of shops. Most wanted to charge between $300-$400. I found a place that did mine for $150.

@bender85 , thanks for posting the link. I’ve been looking to get a grill exactly like that but never was able to find sellers with a grill with letters. The eBay description doesn’t mention them. Did the letters come with the initial shipment of the grill or are thet sent later?

most people want the grille you removed rather than the one just put on. you could probably sell that old one for $150+ on the TW Buy/Sell/Trade

Hey guys quick question. Does anyone know where to buy one of these 2nd gen grilles without the triangle vents? I seen them posted on the forum, but the threads were several years old. Any help is appreciated!
