ordered 9 inch wide rims but most LT tires are suited for max 8.5 rims??? is it possible to put a 9 inch on? will i run into problems, will it look weird? is it safe?

I was planning to run the Kenda skinny 35's on some 9" wheels. You will most likely be fine-check with the manufacturer. They all have a range for the tire size. If you fall outside that range you probably won't find a reputable tire place that will mount them. 35x12.5 look fantastic... and meaty. If you are going with 35's (saw your other post first...) there are so many things that have to be done anyway, going big is a minor inconvenience.

Test fit them before mounting a tire…..once you mount a tire you own it. What’s the offset?

You did not make a mistake.at all with the Rocktrix wheels, the only tire that will.not.fit onto it is a skinny "pizza cutter" type tire that is smaller than a 33". Any 265/70/17, 275/70/17, 285/70/17 or bigger will fit. A tire like a 245/80/17 will not.

Jack up your truck, take a wheel off and make sure the wheel fits. You’ll be fine that offset and 9” wide.

Now you are getting the idea. Slow and steady wins the race and the wallet.

This is what we are here for. Believe me, after 10 years of owning my rig, I have been through it all and just trying to make sure that you do your research first before jumping in with both feet not knowing what you are getting into. Absolutely enjoy the wheels. You will not regret them. I have wheeled them hard for years and they have laughed at the trail and asked for more.

    why LT

rim width is dictated by tire width not load rating

that being said I’ve been told 9>8.5 which is kind of making me regret my 8.5
Not to mention the offset on 9 looks better removing the extra purchase of spacers after
