It is because of the LC250 I ended up with the GX460. Well @Ret CB may have helped push me in the right direction.

Couple of years ago pulled a guy and his Polaris Ranger out of the woods on the Canadian border. He was lucky I came along when I did, in the middle of nowhere and of course no cell phone reception. Found out later that he owns the largest Toyota dealership in Northern Mn. The next year ran into him at a lodge having drinks and he told me and my friend that Toyota was coming out with the 250. Both he and my friend drive FJ's and of course I had a Taco then.

So kept an eye open and was #2 for the new Land Cruiser. Yes there is a waiting list.

Got thinking better of it and went to town to test drive a 23 TRD Pro 4Runner with a couple thousand miles on it. Did not impress me at all and they wanted as much as new. Like my Taco it struggled to get out of its own way when hit the gas :anonymous: Don't recall the number they were asking but it was sky high more than my first stick house.

On the showroom floor they had a 76 FJ55, not for sale

Brought back memories of my 77 FJ55

Said as much to the salesman and he said I needed to test drive a 19 GX460 with 40K on it for half the cost of the original price. And it was a Prado Landcruiser (LC150) to the rest of the world. With a V8.

Damn near had to twist my arm to get me to drive it but by the time I pulled out of the dealer lot knew it was going to be mine. Thinking about getting vanity plates that say LASTV8

He called me last month and told me my landcruiser was in. All in would have been $80K. Thanks but no thanks. I'm happy even though at times I miss the Taco and should have kept it after 11 years I got 2/3 of what I paid for it and the CD is earning decent interest instead of me paying on a 80K loan.

You went the right direction yours looks way better than the Land Cruiser I sent that picture to the wife. She didn’t take long to come back with that’s ugly. But the interior looks comfortable though.

decided to go for a walk tonight just to get out. had trouble getting to sleep the last couple nights - i'm sure i would have been dead to the world in 5 minutes if i was out in the camper - so trying to expend a little energy before i wind down for hte night.
85 and kinda humid. at least as humid as it gets up here.
and weeds. lots of weeds. mainly the two that i'm super allergic too so that's probably the last walk for a while
now i just hope i get to sleep tonight and i'm not up with my allergies bugging me.

I turned off the irrigation months ago because the weeds took over. My front yard was terrible but by watering and mowing I was just farming them. Sometime when it cools off I'll take out what weeds are left and take the burner to what comes up afterward. As much as I'd like to have rain I'm glad it's held off. There's talk of monsoons hitting the Phoenix area as soon as next week but they're a ways away from here.
