I just installed OME BP-51 shocks all around and deaver N98 leaf packs in the rear, which are rated for 2 inches of lift. What should my rear bumpstop gap measurement be ?

Right now there is 4.5" to 5" of shock shaft when sitting still/level.

I am using my sumospring as a bumpstop which I cut down, measurement between it and the frame is about 2.75" to 3".

    Any help would be appreciated.

Just went though the same thing. Got icon rxt option 2 for approx 2" lift... icon rr 2.5" ext rear shocks. Have approx 4.5 to 5" on shock shaft sitting level. Not sure how much shaft is left at full compression... figure maybe an inch? My gap from bump stop to frame was 2.5". The bump stops compress 2.25" so a total of 4.75" of compression. Was worried the shock might come close to bottoming out before full compression of bump stop so added a 1/4" spacer to raise the bump stop a bit. Now with the new ubolt flip kit and the 1/4" spacer my bump stop to frame gap is approx 2".... with the bump stop compression of 2.25" total compression is now approx 4.25". Anyway, that's what i did... probably better ways to do it though.

OEM replacement shocks are designed to not require any further modifications (e.g. bump stop, brake lines, etc.). If your measurements suggest otherwise, perhaps you bought the wrong shocks?

Op upgraded to ome not oem. Also, his new leaf pack raised the rear which sometimes require taller bump stops/extended brake lines.

Old Man Emu makes OEM replacement shock absorbers, i.e. shock absorbers with extended and collapsed length close enough in stock spec to not require modifications. That’s why websites ask for your make, model, year.

Changing your ride height by changing your spring length, rate, or preload only changes the resting point within the suspension travel range, not its upper and lower limits. The shocks control the lower limit and the bump stops control the upper limit.
