Keep in mind that the average shoe size in America is a 10-10.5 A. For most riders there is plenty of room. Couple that with it being an ADV tourer rather than a sport bike meant for carving canyons and it kinda makes sense. I know it doesn't help you as far as solving the problem, but keeping it in perspective can help with managing expectations.

Mostly stock, just getting it to my liking, just happy to have had the taco and now my 4Runner.

Here you go, I’m bidding in another x8 as I gave my last one to my college bound kid, so it’s probably hidden in the trunk of the lost souls, never to be seen again.

Lockable, waterproof storage is the shit. I have a 56 liter Givi trunk that pops on and off in seconds but i only use it when I have a passenger and need the added space. I agree it does detract from the appearance of the FJR but it's functionality and the fact I don't see it while I'm riding make up for that.

I've also had the misfortune of having a rather pricey Shoei helmet stolen from my bike many years ago so I will lock my helmet if it's going to be out of eyesight for any period of time.

And so it begins. Kid gets a cruiser, and next thing you know it's all about looks and not function. I see your future, bro....

    +1 on all this.

I like a bagless bike, particularly when its as sexy as the GRiSO. One of the things I like about that bike is single side exhaust, I can lock my helmet to, and hang it upon, the high side pillion peg. Hate having to deal with a helmet at a destination. But THEN you gotta carry the lock...slippery slope. One way or another, to truly have your bike be your DD, you've got to have provisions for carrying shit. Be it a top case, a tank bag, a back pack or a murse....

Thanks for the link! That's about the price I'd be willing to pay to try something out before going down a similar rabbit hole. My latest entry was that of the R/C drift world - $1,000+ CAD and still going.

Mine's been making a squeaking sound as well, only notice it when moving around the garage with engine off. ~900 miles, been doing it for a while. Let us know what you find, may need to do the same on mine.

Agreed luggage usually detracts from looks but makes life so much better. I only have a handlebar bag on the 701 and sucks on longer days having no storage. Feels like I have all the room for stuff on my Duke, even the tail bag alone can hold a good amount. Also should start carrying a helmet lock with me.

An acquaintance hung his Shoei off the bike lock at a poker run after party. Went to leave and somebody has pissed in it. As for me, I scratched the shit out of an Arai Sz hanging off the wing.

Also, a handy way to lock up a leather jacket, handgun or DSLR if you are in an area where it is not convenient/verboten to carry.

I’m always riding with my backpack when using/ on a work day. Have a magnet bag pops on bike but not secure, hardly ever use. Caked in dust. I always carry my stuff because people just suck mostly.

the saddle bags im looking into are lockable and waterproof and have great reviews yes they are smaller but they will work for my needs.

see my bike is always in sight and if it isnt i take my helmet off the bike and bring it into the building with me. im someone who doesnt leave stuff out and about much because of possible theft.
helll nah lol i like saddle bags like i had sent a few days ago. but those massive trunk boxes? nah they are goofy af looking and if i need to take that much stuff or store that much ill take my truck or i just wont take it simple as that. id rather not take the entire house with me just to go for a ride.
yikes thats nasty but i also dont go to those types of events haha or leave my stuff for people to mess with it.

leather jacket i dont got lol so atm not a concern or a handgun so that dont bother me. my camera i dont leave out anywhere... its to much money to loose so i always have it on hand unless its locked in my truck and even then i have it on me in a backpack.

I agree that the top case looks a little out of place on some bikes, but I wouldn't want to leave it at home. It's the only secure storage, and the helmet fits inside nicely. Hanging on the bars or mirror, it'll be gone when I get back.

thankfully thats not really an issue here with people stealing helmets you have more of a fear of coming back to the helmet on the ground and no bike lmao
