they just overall a better tire compared to ko2.
Have to watch the vids in this thread and read all the posts but was just trying to hear from someone who had both

 

@Discount Tire do these ko3 come in 285/70/17 C rated with white letters?

 

I have had around 4-5 sets of KO2s in various size, I personally have no problem with them being little slippery in wet condition (one of its short comings allegedly). So far KO3 seems to be a tad quieter than KO2s and I have not had opportunity to drive it in the wet yet. However, given that my truck struggles off the line in wet even with stock tires, I am not expecting a lot.

 

been waiting for the KO3s for over a year now and it doesnt look like im getting a 265 70R16 What's the main issue going from an R16 to an R17, will the truck just sit a little higher ?

 

The OD of 265/70r16 is about 1 inch less than 265/70r17, however, the effective height of the tires is only 0.5 inch difference (raise the vehicle up by 0.5inch) and I think it's negligible.

right, I'd suggest wait for 265/75r16 thats coming out in august.

265/75r16 is essentially the same OD with 265/70r17, but for 16inch wheels. I only suggested that since you were looking for 265/70r17 in the beginning, and 265/75r16 is very similar.

 

265/70R16 is coming out in February 2025.

16 and 17 are wheel sizes. 265/70R16 is an inch smaller than 265/70R17. If you wanted an equivalent to stock size (265/70R16) tire on a 17" wheel, you would want 265/65R17.

Obviously, you need to have a set of 17” wheels for that to work. If you want to upsize on your 16’s, you would run 265/75R16. KO3s in that size are coming out next month, August 2024.

 

285/70/17 load C mounted time for alignment!

 

Took a trip to beach, 200miles highway, 20 miles sand, tire did 100% great, highway mpg calculated to be 22.6mpg with LT265/70r17 load range E. Very satisfied with KO3. (did not air down due to the stormy weather and the sand was wet enough)

 

Does anyone know if LT 285/70/17 C come in white letter?

I hope they do. Or else ima have to get the black letters. Not opposed to it just use to the white letters since i got my truck in 2015

 

yea personally I love the look of the raised white letter tires for our tacomas, it gives tires a bit more definition.

 

265 75 16

 

Looks good. Any chance you got to weigh them before install? Curious if the listed weight is correct. They are listed lighter than the KO2 in the same size, which doesn’t make sense because most the other KO3 are heavier than their previous KO2 size.

Drive any different than what you had previously? Sluggish or anything?

 

I did not weigh them.

I just had them installed, I only drove it back from the tire shop to my house which is about 5 miles.

But it felt better then the stock tires (Goodyear Wrangler) I had before.
