Tach and Speedo lighting not working

23' Off Road with no electrical mods other than a brake controller. All lights were working fine the last three months with the controller

Everything else is working. I checked the under dash fuse box and could not find a fuse that appeared to relate to those lights. I had read that the dome light might be on the same circuit, the dome light is working. I pulled the fuse anyway, it of course was fine.


I'm under warranty but going in is a bit of a pain but if I can't figure it out I will go in.

Any ideas?

 

Did you turn the dimmer all the way down, possibly while cleaning by accident?

 

Check this first.

If that's not it, Check the 7.5A Meter fuse.

 

Nope, even turned it up all the way, nut'n

 

How did you mount the controller? Could you have accidentally pinched a wire or pulled 1 loose at the plug?

 

Idiot alert, I repeat, idiot alert!

I have been amateur wrenching on cars and motorcycle's for decades, pulling engines, trannys, rebuilding etc......

And, apparently I can still be an idiot. While the rest of the country is baking in big heat, here next to the Pacific Ocean we were covered in fog early this morning. Nothing dense enough to need lights. While driving I looked at my dash and the center info was lit up as was the touchscreen but the speedo and tach were not...duh. The Tach and Speedo are analog and don't need lighting, UNTIL YOU TURN ON THE LIGHTS!.....How embarrassing.

I just tried to come up with a good lie to avoid the confession but the best I could come up with was "I was just car jacked and there is no need for me to ever post here again"

 

Easy fix!
