yeah I think what really worked for us was what I mentioned above, getting into a solid bedtime routine even if it takes awhile. Where at the end, they know it's time to go to bed no ifs ands or buts. Initially there will be pushback but the more you enforce the boundary the quicker they accept it

Yeah I posted up the BRZ and have started looking for a new daily

Haven't decided if I want to step up to something better/newer/more expensive or stick around the ~10k I'll (hopefully) get for the BRZ.

Looking at mainly an RC350 if I step up, or older IS350/LS430 or 460/GS350 if I go the cheaper route. 460 does scare me a bit as there is just a ton of things to go wrong on a car like that.

Drove a 10th gen Accord 2.0T as well, actually really liked it and its pretty quick so that's on the expensive list too, and would be like 3-5 years newer at same price and miles as the RC.

The last-gen Camry should probably be on here, but they're such a boring car to me I don't know if I could do it, even if they're basically perfect for the job. And the V6's are $$$. Love the Corolla Hatch, but only 170hp is painful..

Its been hard because I have weird requirements, as you can probably tell my options are spread across the board. I just want to love how it looks, be reliable, and have at least a little more power than a normal car

Think by today's standards, everything has a little more power than that BRZ

I think my BRZ has lost a lot of what it had too lmao

Its supposed to be 200hp at 2700lb,

but that Accord at 252hp and 3500lb felt significantly faster
    Absolutely night and day difference

I've had a Corolla hatch (non GR) and a GT86, both were very spirited, but the corolla was easier to get aggressive and go on all sides of the limit of traction and still be in control.

I mean I do live in a desert technically. Eastern Washington is desert. But for the most part we stay under triple digits except for about a week's worth of days every summer

Thats good to hear, I'm going to have to drive one, I was going to last weekend when I drove the RC and Accord but there weren't any hatches nearby. The Toyota dealer looked almost abandoned compared to all the other dealers around, basically all they had on the lot was new Tundras.

the RC is a nicer car, but the infotainment on anything older than a 23 is super dated imo, and they are not super fun feeling, so much heavy

Could be worse my wife likes to leave all the windows wide that face the sun during the hottest part of the day so the living rooms turns into a oven.

Yeah that's exactly how I felt. Drove a '15 RC first, I absolutely love the design of it, one of the best looking cars they've ever made imo. But after testing that and hopping into an Accord right after, the Lexus interior felt like it would be right at home in like an '08 model, compared to the '20 Accord which looked as good as a '25 model. Not just interior either, the Honda felt quicker too, better mpg, 4 doors and huge trunk, and probably cheaper insurance. Is it worth the eye-candy value of the RC though.. Won't be easy to decide lol

Didn't Portland get into the low triple digits last summer or the year before? people probably thought the world was ending there
