CH4X4 service has gone down hill

I ordered a custom switch from CH4X4 on July 1. I got an email on July 3rd saying that the switch was complete and shipped. Even had a tracking number. As of today that tracking number still according to USPS.com is just saying label created and USPS is awaiting the Item.

I ordered two other switches in the last week. One custom and one standard. Again I get email notification that my switches are complete and a tracking number. And again USPS.com shows just label created and USPS awaiting the item.

I email them asking about my orders and was told my first order was picked up yesterday, July 9th and the other two, in one package, will be picked up today.

Just checked 5 minutes ago and both tracking numbers so the same, ;label created and USPS awaiting the item.

BTW, I tried calling them today to have no one answer the phone and their Voice Mailbox was full and cannot accept any messages.

Now what?

 

It may be USPS not having up to date info. Last month, I ordered a camping bonfire pit recently and the company told me I would have it on Friday the day before I left for my trip (it was Tuesday when I ordered) since they shipped it via USPS 2 day priority mail. Tuesday I got a tracking number that said it the label was created and USPS was waiting for the package. Up until Thursday evening, it said the same thing and then finally updated saying package received Thursday and expect it Tuesday the following week. I was super bummed but the company assured me they shipped it out within 24hrs of me ordering it. Next morning on Friday, it showed up, just like the company said it would. For whatever reason USPS tracking was way off/delayed.

 

Could be the crazy weather some of the country is having now. I have a package that is being bounced around the mid-west with USPS.

 

I made a purchase from them earlier this year. Delays were definitely not related to USPS in my case. Instead, they ran out of one of the specific color switches. Rather than communicate this, they marked things shipped and said nothing, and then didn't actually ship. When I contacted them a couple weeks later, only then did they fill me in. I did not get the impression that they were bothered by this lack of communication as much as I was.

Moral of my story, if you are in a rush to get parts from them think twice. I did get all my parts and so far they are all working well, but it's a very good thing I procrastinate like a mofo otherwise I would have been delayed in my build.

Yea every time I ordered from them in the past they were really quick in making the switch and sending it out. Now that I need at the very least two of the three switches they pull this. If it's USPS or them it sucks. I have a car show next Saturday and I would like to get my truck back together for it. Just ordered two switches that I need from AOB. Hopefully them will come in time...

 

USPS is failing. You can look up the politics of it all including when the funding was cut if you’re interested but the bottom line is if you want to reliably send or receive a package do everything you can to avoid USPS.

 

UPS is a flaming pile of garbage. For over a year my driver has been delivering my stuff to the house across the street, if at all. I've even flagged them down in my neighborhood and explained to the meth head driver the difference between odd and even house numbers.

One time I didn't receive a package and the methhead driver could not remember where he might have delivered it to, so the company I bought the stuff from filed a claim. I got a replacement product. Then a few days later the meth head's crack head boss came to my door asking me to sign a paper stating that I got my replacement product. But, it turns out it was actually a paper stating I received the ORIGINAL package. No way for me to know because I didn't memorize tracking numbers. I was then in trouble with the place I purchased the product from for trying to commit package fraud. I had to use video from my surveillance system to document visits by crackheads and meth heads and lack of visits during periods when I was supposed to get a delivery. The $hitshow took 6 months to resolve. There's a reason UPS color is brown.

Politics aside, I have a vague memory of hearing that the USPS, ignoring the IRS, is one of the few federal agencies that makes money. This caught my curiosity, so I did a small amount of research. Here are some stats.

There are agencies that actually self-fund and make a profit that's returned to the treasury each year. FTC and SEC come to mind. They make money on filings for mergers and such. I'm sure there are others like energy regulators that self fund to some degree as well.

I wasn’t arguing with you, albeit my “research” did show that the usps does make money some years which is perhaps is the root of my vague memory.

 

I'm not sure about historically, but it seems that under DeJoy service has worsened and losses have mounted.

 

USPS tracking is a joke. The best I've ever seen was 24 hrs to show up in their system. Other times, the package has arrived with their system still showing as not picked up.

 

I’ll also tell you this…if your switch(es) arrive(s) in “due” time, you owe this company an apology.

 

@OldSchlPunk USPS tracking is a joke, you say??? (credit goes to someone on Reddit as I laughed when I saw how ridiculous this was). While this actually shows tracking progress I have had packages arrive and the "label was created" and that was it...

I've had issues with Fed Ex and UPS as well over the years and I inspect everything with a fine tooth comb at this point. The last few exhausts I've had on cars shipped by FedEx looked like they arrived via trebuchet.

Agreeing. My example was less about lack of tracking but figured I'd share anyhow. Anytime I see shipped via USPS I just look to see when the estimated arrival is and almost never look again.

 

Sounds like a USPS problem to me.

 

Right now the way I see it I have to put the blame on the company. Case in point, First order was placed on July 1. On July 3rd I got a email stating that my order was "complete" and then another email, one minute later, that my order was "shipped". The order stayed in that limbo state from July 3rd, when the label was created until July 10th. So why the delay. During one of the email conversions the company stated "we apologize for the inconvenience, we have a small delay in sending orders". That was on July 9th.

Regardless all of my switches are due to be delivered this coming Monday.
