Been going to battle with the tacoma recently. After fixing the twisted ADD tube off the front diff, still had some vibrations. I found my drive shaft had lost a balancing weight. Picked up a OE spare for $175 from a used part dealer in town with a carrier bearing and popped that in. Gonna balance the old and keep it as a spare.

Went to reinstall my skids and had 2 threaded holes give up on me, so drilled em out, and welded in a flanged nut to the frame to replace the blown out threads. I also ordered a new TCase skid cross member from RCI bc it was nearly broken in half and touching my TCase. Went to put it in and came up almost 3/4” short. Not sure if this could be from welding deflection at the RCI factory or my frame is bent from the previous crossmember taking such a beating and spreading the frame a tad. Im headed out friday to wheel so I guess I will cut the crossmember at the welds where it kicks up to meet the frame, flatten it out to make it long enough to reach the frame and re weld it, then reinstall it. I might even weld it to the frame- lightly in a way i can easily cut it off when needed.
you can see in the pics how different they are fresh compared to abused, so tough to say what the problem is. I did take some measurements of the frame, so if anyone without a tcase skid wants to chime in please do
Under the flag bolt on the driver side that holds the brake line housing (2nd to last pic) : 39-7/16” inside to inside
Directly behind the frame wrap, where its kinda boxed in, just behind the brake line housing, on the actual frame- not the added steel on top- last pic :40 7/16”.
I plan on calling RCI in the morning to get to the bottom of it and to check dims/ angles. Chime in if you got time to measure to verify if my frame is a lil tweaked- thanks yall

KAGU All-Weather mats from 3d Mats. Fit is great, like the look and feel. May still use the OEM ones in the winter but we will see. I do like how they overlap the trim a bit. Will see how they clean up with dirt and dog hair as the first pick was just off my shoes pulling the truck out of the garage for 2 seconds. IMG_5290.jpg IMG_5291.jpg

Dreading taking my truck to dealer.
Took it in for the rear axle weld slag recall. Made an appointment 2 days before, told me on phone it would be a 30 minute inspection. I drove it in & waited. After 1.5 hrs, they still hadn't moved the truck. Called wife to come get me & go to lunch. Called dealer after lunch, it will be a few more hours. WTF? Finally, the call & truck is done. 6 fucking hours & they said my truck didn't need anything except retorque fasteners. Wife drops me off, I get paperwork & they pull truck around. When I went to get in truck, there's 2 deep scratches on driver front door. I go get the service manager, they get the service writer & they review all the pics they took when I brought it in. Said they will contact me in a few days to schedule to bring it in to paint dept. How much time for that? Maybe 2 or 3 days. Celestial silver? Bet that match will be a shitshow.
    I fucking hate dealerships.

Sweet deal! Really easy to install as well.

Ill want the drivers lights, so I'll run the wiring for that this weekend.

    Enough for now
Hauled 16 x 80lb pavers = 1280lbs total. She was a lil heavy. Was told they were only 40lbs en route to Lowe’s…..was not the case upon arrival to the garden section

I put two of those in the bed for winter weight, along with sand bags and a dry box full of gear.

Installed an SSO Slimline Hybrid Bumper with a Badlands Apex 12K Winch and lightbar. Nothing too fancy, but just enough to handle the offroad recoveries I've been doing a lot the past year.

My 2023 got hit with less than 300 miles on it in a parking lot behind the rear wheel and bumper.
Body shop did a great job and can't see anything. They did the silver on the damage and clear coated the entire bedside.

I got the ones by ISSY Auto. Have had them on for a year. Was getting gas yesterday and noticed the two rear ones are melted so bad they are touching the glass. I might be running sans-rear vents too soon.
What can I say. Phoenix is HOT!

Got the Anytime camera system set up today. My driver side switches are all filled up so I mounted the switch in the center next to my Redarc brake controller.
Fairly easy to do but I kinda wish I spent the extra money to have them solder everything together. Soldering the wires and wrapping it all up was the longest part of the whole project.
