Opinions on Bushnell Banner 6-24x40 scopes? Local place around here has them on sale for a decent price.

I'm looking for something with a higher mag then 3-9x40 and I want to spend around 150-175. Scope will be gonig on a Winchester Model 10 chambered in 270.
If you think there is a better scope out there for that kind of money feel free to chime in.

    Thanks

You might want to look at Primary Arms, they have pretty good quality scopes for a pretty good price.

The new Redfields are built by Leupold and are a great scope for the money. Should be close to your price range.

^^ Yeah Redfield, Weaver, and Hi-lux are all good high-value options.

Leupold vx-III is a amazing scope, I have two of them. They gather light like a swarovski and have reticles for easy long range shooting honestly check it out

I have a bushnell banner in 3x9x40......have had it for 7 years...and haven't had any probs. Not the best scope out for the price...but its not bad. Good light transmission and holds zero decently. I had it on the .270 for a few years...sold the .270...and put it on my 30-30.

Foglights are for fog, not oncoming traffic!
This scope at lower power might be perfectly acceptable. I would guess it gets pretty coarse over 10X and might be unuseable at anything over 15X.
I have high power scopes I use at the range for paperpunching and they work fine. Wouldn't really trust them on an important hunt.
At that price, I'd look at Mueller APV.
You're really asking for a lot $175=20x magnification.
