    One water damaged room returned to its mid-90s splendor using mostly mid-90s materials from my parents basement and attic hoard of carefully labeled cans and boxes of vintage renovation materials. (I didn’t think to take a “before.”)IMG_3994.jpgOne more to go. (Demo 90% complete)

    Back in the late ‘70s-mid ‘90s my mother (off summers as a school social worker) redid one or two rooms every year, only using child labor for assistance and contractors for things like plumbing or electric until the whole huge old house was completely renovated. Cool to get the team back together.

    Just great now I want to go fishing!

    Many years ago when I was stationed in the Tidewater Va. area I lived down in Currituck, NC. Took a friend Bob who was from West by Gawd Va. fishing in a canoe through the channels of the Great Dismal Swamp bass fishing. I grew up in canoes so paddled from the back. At one place looked up and there were a couple of cottonmouths in a branch just above us wrapped together. Bob had the brilliant idea to smack them with his paddle. Don't be like Bob. I'll have to admit he always had a way of turning any outing into an adventure.
