Makes sense then. Shitty though to deal with that right after processing a deer strike.

Lots done to the car? Appraisals become necessary after a certain point, just have to decide how much you're willing to risk / lose before paying more for insurance.

    Crazy...

Also that sucks @Sacrifice I wasn't trying to make light of your misfortune. I hit a deer in my S-10 a long time ago and luckily it was an easy fix, insurance did drag it out though. That truck was my pride and joy I would have been devastated seeing it up in flames.

How are you liking the VW?

I'm not a fan of using straps on hitch carriers unless there's something else to mechanically hold the bike from coming out of the track, tiedown straps are pretty reliable but stuff happens. Pretty happy with this design but it's limited to 400# and requires off road style footpegs to work.

We sometimes camp in places that need 4x4 to get to, other then a crappy departure angle this works really well hauling the bike out to those places and it's far gentler on the air forks on my other bike.

ive thankfully only hit one deer in my life with my 91 pickup and it was a little one... so it caused no damage thanks to the brush guard lol

i cant see the images so you will have to tell me the company or someone will have to screenshot for me ugh!

i prefer trailers tbh... i do like the ease of having it all on one vehicle but god does it suck loading on those things! back when i had my grey tacoma it was awful trying to load a bike on it!

It was stock other than the hitch which did get reimbursed.

Could have left my bike on and had a nice pay day though, lol.

    Oh no worries. Its funny.

the vw is a lot more fun. More power and much nicer interior for comfort. Only two things i dont like: 19 in wheels and its a little smaller. But it makes up for it with mpg, 30s on the highway and even around town is 22.
I really like my racknride which I know we have discussed before.

This one takes a little work to get on, I recently lifted the truck 2" and haven't used it since so that I'm sure will make it a little more difficult. I'd have a trailer if I lived someplace where I could store it.

ya if i had a photo id show you how awful it was with my grey truck with its angle but the only pic i got is one with the bike on the back.
it was a massive pain in the ass! 3.5" something lift 34s and the high clearance rear bumper made it the worst thing to ever do!

my current tacoma is just leveled in the front and the rear is stock so it makes it so much easier! but thankfully i got a yard to store my little trailer in.

Old coworker of mine had a T100 and it's a 5 speed so had very similar things to say about highways. Esp in Utah where there were 80mph limits.

Sometimes I like a trailer but there's plenty of times I don't. It can be hassle to drag it around if you can't just pull it in a garage or something. It's one more thing to worry about (tires/lights).

I've gone back to a rack or loading if I can avoid the trailer. Tacoma was on 35s and lifted.

That's my reasoning for going with this rack. I can set up camp and not park in the staging area. The mtbs can go in the camper on fork mounts...or eventually I'll get a stand up rack that slides into the hitch on this rack.

That's great when those things come in handy! For me it actually worked out nice, the body shop was cool and snuck in custom work on the repair - I had them put on an Oldsmobile Bravada front clip, cowl hood, and shaved the door handles.

Nice I like them, can't sell my wife on a hatchback for some reason. I hear you on the wheels, got 18s on our WRX and would rather even 17s for a daily driver. That's good mpg too. Also Subie looks sick with a bike on the back!

I don't think it "needs" that many. It's my first moto and it makes me feel better having a secure/aggressive rack

my trailer sits in my backyard and i rebuilt everything last year so im good for a long while its light and simple buuuut its a bit to small for larger bikes like my bolt. for dirtbikes its perfect minus the no ramp part and having to carry a metal ramp with me around...

hey that works haha ive seen people put the bravada clips on and idk how i feel about them tbh lol they are not bad but not great if that makes sense

S-10's were super common back in the custom minitruck days so it was hard to stand out from the crowd. A lot of people did the GMC Envoy front which looked the best in my opinion, but I had never seen the Bravada done before so had to be different!

Sweet! Think I'll do that after this season to make sure I still want to keep tracking. Maybe I'll try and make a video of it lol

That's badass!! And yes very familiar with the D50/Mighty max always loved them. I had two custom S-10's - a 1982 and 1999. Minitrucks and shows were my main hobby for a good decade of my life. It's why I still love my little 1st gen Tacoma. And that's also what was distracting me from motorcycles for so long haha

I would love to have another bagged truck though, that was so fun. No ramps needed to load a bike ha

is yours a 2wd or 4wd? i think you should get another bagged truck i mean its only money! go for it!
