Nice would love to see pics of that. And yeah you have projects already keeping you busy!

Mine's 4wd, if it wasn't for snow and living in a hilly area I'd be fine with 2wd. To be honest my truck mostly sits in the garage maybe sees 1-2k miles a year.

I don't have the time or resources to build another, but I do look often what's out there for sale. No shame I'd buy an already built truck if it was nicely done, have thought about selling/trading mine but also my wife doesn't want me to get rid of it.

Yup I figured it was similar. Tighten to a high 20-40ftlbs first, move back n forth to seat everything, then loosen completely and LIGHTLY tighten (43in lbs is 3.58ftlbs). Then put top clamp on and tighten down the top clamp nut a bunch. The steering stem bearing preload nut will get pushed into the threads in the opposite direction fully clamping everything when the top clamp nut is tightened.

Speaking of trucks im seriously considering a 2nd gen club cab long bed 4x4 dodge cummins.... I would love a big truck to do big truck things.

No smog, mechanical running gear, lots of positives but it would be a project so id need a daily driver and the tacoma would have to be replaced with something like a corolla/Camry. *hides from shit storm under his current tacoma*

just a couple of things tbh
ya ill see if he posts any on facebook since i think he went to a truck meet this weekend with the dude with the s10. dude tell me about it... also the rumored mr2 that a buddy said he would trade me a set of wheels for is suppppposdly coming in so shit... it doesnt have an engine but clean cali shell so uhhh i better finish my 98 haha. tbh might sell the mr2 shell just for funds on the civic or sell the civic for funds on the mr2 idk wait and see...

ah makes sense tbh. damn thats some low miles in a year! how many do you have overall?

ya i feel that... tbh no shame in buying a built one since you can always change bits here and there for it. idk if id sell your truck its hard finding good first gen trucks anymore... i tried before my second 2nd gen lol but found nothing worth a damn out here..

GUYS they came! I found a set of black with white accent Joe rocket super moto gloves in size large. Pretty sure I got the last one from motosport.com, and was suspicious if they would actually ship and be the right ones.

God they fit SOOOOOO much better than any Alpinestar ... Really any glove under around 100 I test fit at cyclegear the other day. So happy!

All these post have me looking. I have a 6 X 10 utility trailer with a drop ramp but my 4 cyl Tacoma does not like to pull it. Around town, great, a long trip, no thanks. My wife's Outback pulls it a hell of a lot better than the Tacoma. I'm thinking small Harbor Freight with aluminum decking and a removable ramp, and my Tacoma might not downshift every time somebody farts. To be fair, I had a 2.2 S-10 and never managed to get out of 3rd gear with it. The big drop gate was a bitch in the wind, my Xterra got 11 mpg pulling it.

Man, I hear that. I have a 12ft Big Tex 60PI trailer https://www.bigtextrailers.com/trailer/60pi/ and after towing it 300 miles into a headwind at 65 MPH I am legitimately looking to go back to a V8 Tundra. The only thing on the trailer was my Super Tenere and the truck was stuck between 5K-5.5K RPMs with my passenger seat vibrating more than a porn star's butt plug. It was awful.

I love the Taco, especially the Pro, but the only reason I didn't get a 4Runner instead was because the RTT would sit lower on the Tacoma and it would supposedly tow better. That was the most miserable tow I've experienced.

The one in my yard is my buddies, I just store it for him, but I've used it literally hundreds of times. My own motorcycle trailer was a jet ski trailer, with leaf spring suspension, pressure treated boards, nice tires. It's a bit better in every way, I found used for $500~, mostly I just wanted the license plate and vin, so I could use it on my off-road trailer I built, so don't be afraid to keep an eye out for a deal

As highway speeds have increased, I like the KLR650 less and less. I have people tell me, my KLR will run 85 all day. Okay sure, I believe it, but it will burn a quart of oil and the throttle will have 1/8" more before WFO. Mine without the Madstad windshield and panniers will probably hit 95, add the barn door windshield and panniers I am at maybe 85, or 90 with a tailwind.

Been neglecting to post over here. Over 2600 miles on this girl since I got her back. Still waiting on them to change the title over to salvage so I can get it re-titled as a rebuilt. :annoyed:

Helped a buddy do the brakes on his essentially stock 3rd gen (only thing is 265/75 LIGHT michelin LTX M/S street tires). I drove it and was SOOOOOOO underwhelmed at the power delivery of the 3rd gen v6 motor (it had been a long while since I drove a 3rd gen)... man it really needs lots of rpms to move the truck with LOTS of pedal input. The lack of mid range power and torque is noticible compared to the 2nd gen 4.0L... which in itself is not a big powerhouse.

Needless to say I feel you on your wanting a fullsize again.

Getting out of the Tundra I had was an emotional kneejerk and I should not have done it. That's what I get for catching feels. Live and learn. Now I'll have to hold my nose and buy used at a price on par or higher than I paid for my Tundra when I bought it new in 2019. :pout:

Those are great trucks that would be a fun project. My buddy has built a couple Dodge diesels on huge tires and deuce axles.

MR2 is a cool car don’t see them around too often. As for my truck yeah barely drive it nowadays and had low miles when I bought it. Have to check but think it has about 65k miles now. You’re right they’re getting harder to find especially in the rust belt states.

Get a set of bike binderz and then you can run one strap to hold each side of the carrier up. You already have perfect space to mount l track.

thought about bike binderz but it wouldn't gain me much compared to straps on the trailer.

One thing on the racknride is I don't undo the tension at all. Just lean towards hitch and clip the carabiner then lean out towards me.
