She’s doing well considering. I do know the area, I’d recommend the ovens mouth hike, bets fish fry and farm 23. The brewery is cool, and even has RV campsites. Oh and the botanical gardens are nice. Moms actually volunteers there.

Hello, I am also curious about cutting up tacos. And even putting them back together. Are there any plans for a mod day in the near future? Or, are any of you wishing you knew someone who desires assistance with installing the suspension parts she's had under her couch for the last 4.5 years (I live in a tiny apartment, gimme a break!)?

Can relate, I had a bike in my living room for a year or so before we bought a house. Even in my small house, storage space requires some creativity

Depends how intense you want to get. I have a baofeng UV5R and with it, I have an extended battery + a usb charger for that battery, and I have external antenna and mics. That thing will throw. I use it as a setup for the marathon volunteering.

If you're just looking for simplex, I would lower your budget for the radio itself, and focus more on something with higher power, and an external mag/roof antenna, I had an antenna with a lip mount off my roof rack, and a whip, that thing for 6-7 miles range for like 50$. If you're looking for APRS/DMR/etc, then you start to "need" that budget. But honestly, I'd look to step down the budget and not have all the extra bells and whistles if you won't use them. More things that can go wrong and brick the thing.

As shenanigans as it sounds, the UV5R and 8B are both used by so many people, they have a TON of support articles and accessories. If I had a radioddity, I wouldn't be able to find an external battery for 5$ for it, delivered tomorrow. My old setup was nice because it was completely modular and not hard wired to the truck, I could take it out and put it in my wifes camry if needed. Now I have a hard wired radio unit just because I wanted to trim it up a bit. I have the baofeng still for walking around with.

Radioddity is a pretty okay setup, this one is one of my favorites for HTs. It does a TON of stuff, so if you're trying to toy around with learning how to do X, Y, and Z, you're not limited by not being able to with this one.

    https://www.amazon.com/Radioddity-H...prefix=handheld+ham+radio+aprs,aps,140&sr=8-1

I like anytone because they tend to support letting CHIRP do whatever you want.

    https://www.amazon.com/AnyTone-AT-D...prefix=handheld+ham+radio+aprs,aps,140&sr=8-5

On the HT realm, you won't see much about 8-10W,

I was going to say keep me posted, my full-up summer has sort of tapered off and allows some freedom, especially as we get into fall instead.

But then I realized I am going to be there tomorrow.....

Yep, need to lock in a date, as I'm tripping over stuff too... and today is the first day I've had to myself(other than a few support calls this morning) in weeks.

We have an excuse. It's the schedule that's been sucking.

Never would I ever......HOA's are the freaking devil incarnate. They breed "Karen's " and have zero benefit to anyone except for themselves.
